| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | FU to low bidding school bus companies who hire anyone off the street to drive school children to school, and couldn't give a rats ass about their care. I have a handicapped daughter who goes to a BOCES school on LI. (yes, a short bus). Well the school districts put out the contract for bid each year, and each year the asshole company is low bidder. Why? because they could care less what they do. The school is a 45 minute car ride from my home. My daughter has been on a good bus line that picked her up at 8:00 to get to school at 9. reasonable. The Asshole company, Laidlaw transit, won the bid this year. First day - they don't show up. That night they call and want to pick her up at 7:10 to get her to school at 9:00. 1Hour and 50 minutes for a handicapped child to ride a school bus all around long island each morning and evening !! I refused to put her on the bus, and called my district. Unfortunately, the person in the district is new. He calls the company and then tells me they will fix the problem. This evening, the bus company calls again. They tell me they will pick up my daughter in the morning. Fine - what time. 7:10 Fucking assholes - they treat children like cattle to make a buck. This is the same company that 2 years ago had a bus get lost and wind up 3 hours late, after the bus driver decided to shut off his radio. un-fucking-believable.  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | I hear ya man, the buses that pick me up before and after school are fuckin ponderous. the one that picks me up in the morning goes the long way to my school. We get picked up at like 6:50.Now after going to a few stops which takes only like 5 minutes. But he gopes the long way to my school so we get there at like 7:25. the towns are so close thats why it doesnt take that long if u go the right way. After school, the driver for that bus barely speaks a word of fuckin english. Shes on time to pick us up, but she goes past the street thatll bring the bus right into our town, and goes in to like fuckin downtown westfield. We get picked up at like 2:50 and i get home at like 3:30. THE TOWNS ARE SO CLOSE THAT IT SHOULDNT TAKE A 40 MINUTES WHEN IT WOULD USUALLY TAKE 15 MINUTES!!! I think im gonna complain to the school so they can take it up with the company, if she keeps pullin this shit.
