Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | All the radio stations have gone back to playing music. They say that it will help out and make things easier. Ok, But when I turn on Krock and hear Icubis "Pardon me while I burn" and Q104 playing REM "Its the end of the world". I think that is disgusting, I think that is poor taste. Only good thing beside WNEW is WBAB. They haven't played music, they've been talking and doing a great job.... "In the end Opie and Anthony always win!!"

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | i understand what u mean...but some people do need music to help them get through this. im sure this isnt why they played incubus 'pardon me' and probably would of played it anyway, but that song is about being frustrated and just being pissed off. i think it's fitting. O&A Board Regular Registered: Apr. 01 | I agree with X-Filed, WBAB on Long Island (and of course WNEW) has been doing a great job. If I want to hear music, I'll listen to a CD or a tape. While we're on the subject, Hot 97 here in NY and other rap/hip-hop stations better be careful about what they are playing. Several rap songs mention the World Trade Center bombing of 1993. The one that sticks out in my mind the most is "Juicy" by Notorious B.I.G., which contains this wonderful line... "Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade". "May God have mercy on their souls, because we won't."

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | well i disagree because people do need therapy to watch this horror on a continious basis is not healthy either. people need to let their feelings out and music is very theraputic. Think of all the times you feel happy or sad and a song just hits you to the very core of your heart. I mean there are plenty of places to turn for the news, but we need an escape at times. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | See, I felt that way on Wednesday, when I saw people listening to music and all. But now, there's really nothing else to hear right now. There's no real breaking news, and frankly, I don't know how much more I can handle hearing about it. It's bad enough that I still see and smell smoke when I walk out of the door of my house. Sometimes, I need a break. As far as inapropriate songs go, my best friend is a DJ at a bar, and he was terrible torn over what he should and shouldn't play. Pardon Me was one that we ruled out, on simple lyric alone. He and I know what it's really about, but others may not. We also ruled out The end of the World,by REM; AEnema, by Tool; and Ride the Lighnting, by Metallica. Eventually, though it got to the point where almost every song had something that someone might be able to read into... Side Note: Someone went into his DJ booth last night and requested "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" only 20 minutes after we did a moment of silence and played the national anthem. "There goes my hero, he's ordinary..."
