Bullit was definetly one of McQueens best the movie itself was excellent and rivals the french connection at the best crime movie of its era. | Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Bullitt has the most incredible chase scene in cinema. Blues Brothers, Ronin and Way of the Gun have good ones too (Way of the Gun's was smart, not a lot of driving stunts). Bullitt is a boring, slow-paced movie that picks up with the chase scene... the elevator music on build up, where McQueen notices he's being followed then- VROOOM! He screams around the corner and for the next five minutes, the movie is worth the rental. There should be a DVD with that, the destruction scene from Independence Day and a few other totally insand action sequences. Too bad none exists. But, like I was saying, replicating that mayhem on NJ roads puts me and other sensible drivers who are just trying to get somewhere in mortal danger. I don't mean just the teenagers with their souped-up Acuras and Mitsubishis, either, I also include those 45-year-old businessmen in their Beemers, those fucking minivan moms and the greatest danger to those in EVERY state: the douchebag parents in their Volvos, who don't care if they cause a 20-car pileup, because they'll survive. I was just popping off, you know... it is like that every day on NJ roads. At least in NY, people are trying to get somewhere. In NJ, they cut you off and mean it. This is ice. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01 | I can sum it up this way. People in New Jersey know how to drive on NJ highways, the Parkway, and the Turnpike. There is nothing worse than getting stuck behind someone who doesn't drive in Jersey and doesn't know when to step on the gas. That is why we cut you off. It's not that we're better or worse drivers, it's that we know where you can get away with speeding, where the cops sit, etc. I believe in the Faith... that can save me.
