They gave us a nice ride at the end, but they stunk. Phillips had a terrible offseason- even trading f'in Bubba Trammell backfired. That said: Go A's! Even if they re-route it, it would still end up at City Hall, which again, is right near the site. Having tourists there every day is a pain in the ass as it is, but a million Yankee fans? | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Sheetbag, 1st of all, saying you have watched since you were a kid doesn't say much; for all I know you could still be a kid. 2nd, maybe I shouldn't say more than you'l everknow, but I'd be willing to guess that I've watched more yankee games than you; not because you don't watch, but because I suspect I have a few years on you and I watch both teams. 3rd, I defy you to find one post where I bashed the Yankees. I've said from the beginning that my problem is not with the team, it is with fans who aren't satisfied with their own team's wins or losses, but with talking shit. The Yankees have typically been a classy organization, but I haven't seen their fans act the same way. That's my beef. And X-files, maybe you don't get it. I know the team that started off as the NY Highlanders and played in the polo grounds won Pennants back as far as 1923; my point is how many of you Yankee fans paid any attention before that? Something tell me you weren't following back then. Tell me you saw Elliot Maddox patrol centerfield, or at least remember Buck Showalter as manager and I'll have more sympathy. And if you are one of those fans who have some perspective, have some class, and realize that the Red Sox are Yankee rivals, not the Mets, then my comments don't apply to you. | ||||
