If I’m more afraid of the truth, Or more afraid of the lies. We wound up driving lost in the city. Hoping not to find our way, Just so the night wouldn’t have to end. We kissed goodnight. We kissed goodbye, And I never saw her again. A lifetime to share, We had just one night together. One night of lonely regret, One night to live in forever. From a distance she was so pure, To look at her was even a sin. A fantasy come to life, Until reality finally stepped in. I wish I could have given you more, More than just my words. But for all the talking I did, I don’t think I was ever heard. A love that should have lasted, I dreamed of losing myself in your kiss. I want you more than life itself, Now I wonder through all the pain, If there’s more to life than this. A cold empty bed, A dead rose in my hand. Why she had to leave me, I still can’t understand. I remember sitting alone and waiting On that rainy Tuesday night. Laying alone in that bed, Cold and teary-eyed in the dim candlelight. Those memories keep coming back to haunt me. Sometimes they’re enough to make me cry. Because I just can’t forget you, No matter how hard I try. So hate me if you must, But forgive me if you can. I’m sorry for caring, For never wanting to see you cry again. Walk away if you have to, But you didn’t have to leave alone. All you had to do was take my hand, And I would have taken you home. I still have all your letters. I’ve read them each a thousand times. A lot of stories about how you loved me, But not one word of why. I was a fool for even thinking, A boy could tame your wild heart. I promised I’d never let you go. But you were faith lost from the start. The only cure I ever needed Was the touch of your fingertips, All the healing you could have done, With the kiss of your soft red lips. Those sweet dreams haven’t been so sweet Since you’ve been gone. I gave you all of my tears, And now I have none. I never felt you skipping away, I just turned and you disappeared. Now I wake up in the middle of the night, Shaking all alone with my fears. Out of my heart, Blood red wine slowly bleeds. I’ve waiting so long for you, You were all I’ll ever need. Where do we go from here? When you won’t listen to the words that I speak. When I’m supposed to stand up strong, But your thought makes me feel so weak. I cry to the night, “Jennifer, where are you now?†Here I lie helpless and hurt, Can’t I find you somehow. Are you hiding from me, Or do you hide from yourself? Was my taste so bitter, Or was it life, That’s left a bad taste in your mouth? Just to hear your name Is to rub salt in an old wound never healed. We never saw things through to an end. Before we had a chance to lose each other, Our time was at an end. And for all the wrongs you’ve done me, You still can do no wrong. I’ll always be a lost soul, Searching for the lost faith for which he longs.  I believe in the Faith... that can save me. I believe in the hope and I pray...
