| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | This fucking morning, I let my dog out in the backyard to go to the bathroom. She is a medium sized lab/pit and she just took off out the door. It was still dark so I could tell she was fighting with something. I screamed at her to come and than ran after her. I saw the skunk and picker her up and by that time, the fucking vermin piece of shit sprayed my dog and I. Question what is the best way to get smell of pets? 2nd, what is the best way to get if off me, I heard tomato juice or diluted vinegar? 3rd question, best way to get if off my clothes. Thank god it will be semi warm today as my wife is home and she has all the windows in the house open and all our ceiling fans on.  | ||||

I've also heard that tomato juice works...or is that just from some old t.v. show? :) You might try Nature's Miracle (pet stores). It's about $20/gallon, but works on other pet smells so it might help. Whatever you find out, please post it, because I have a fear of my dogs being sprayed and not knowing what to do! | Hanger-On Registered: Jul. 01 | You can try: When your pet is sprayed, the quicker you take action, the more completely you can remove the odor. Wash your pet with tomato juice, Massengil douch, or diluted vinegar to counteract the chemical makeup of the skunk spray. Skunk Off and similar preparations containing neutroleum alpha, available from some pet stores, are effective. Skunk Smell Remedy: 1 quart 3% peroxide, 1/4 c baking soda, 1 tbs liquid hand soap. Mix all three ingredients together. Shampoo animal thoroughly keeping out of eyes, nose and mouth. Soak 5 minutes. Rinse well. Hope this helps | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Update. It is about 12 and a half hours later. My wife and I got the smell off of us and teh dog by using tomato juice and distilled vinegar and than washing off with water. However, our house still smells after having the windows open the entire day, one of the doors and the ceiling fans going. Also sprayed air freshener. My wife has done 6 loads of laundry for smelly clothes and towels. I have taken 3 showers and hosed myself off. If this does not tell you how much all skunks deserve to die than I don't know. Even Don and Mike don't smell this bad. | ||||

I have washed more and used more hand lotions and used enough tomato juice, that I don't know what the fuck to do. Someone said it is in my pores now. We should save money and just drop skunks into the Al Queada caves. Actually the skunks probably smell better than those pieces of shit. I am so fucking pissed. I am afraid to leave my house. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | 18 fucking days, and I am still picking up traces of skink smell either on clothing that has not been worn in a while or clothes that have been washed multiple times. It is like 99% gone, but give me a fucking break already. I already threw out some clothes that would not go away. | ||||
