| My wife just found out that her mother may have bone marrow cancer last night or it could be an infection. But the doctors were very worried and said whatever it is, has spread already. She has an appointment on Monday. I can say that she is one the nicest, most kind people around. She does so much for my wife and I and we both love her very much. Why do bad things like this always happen to good people?
Is anyone familiar with this type of cancer and what are the chances of survival for it?

| I am very sorry to hear of this. I suggest whatever you do, you get several opinions on this. Always, see at least 3 doctors whenever the possibility of cancer exists.
There have been cases where patients have been treated for it and never had it to begin with or where experimental medication was not a choice given to the family because of the doctor's own politics concerning it.
I was bi when being bi wasn't kewl.
Mmmm tastes like chicken to me, wanna lick?

| Hey Teenweek, sorry to hear about your mother in law. I work on an oncology floor and I'm a nursing student, give me the official name of the cancer and I'll see what kind of info I can get for you ("bone marrow cancer" is kinda vague). FYI, cancer is not the death sentance it once was, so please br strong and don't start giving up hope. Also, do what Strawberry said and get some more opinions before iniating treatment.
BoxOfWine will be attending the Mr. Brownstone Academy of Dance until 7/20, one more opening available.
