| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70  | Ok first off i wanna adress something that is pissing me off. I banned kid afrika after he quit the board with his "fuck all y'all" thread. Afrika wants to come back and after a long discussion on his past actions and trying to explain what he did wrong and how he needs to conduct himself, I have agreed to let him back. But beyond that here is where the problem lies. Someone unbanned him without posting in BTS or asking me. What the fuck is wrong with you guys? This has been a problem for a while now. People feel they can befreind one mod and they can disrespect the others. No obviously afrika went to one of you and sobbed and you unbanned him. No matter what my beef with any of you is if a member is banned even if i feel for a wrong reason i say i can do nothing, because i was not the one to ban them. Don't you see by unbanning or changing a status without findout out what the reason was you are creating a crack in the heiarchy. We are supposed to be one entity and support eachother. Like i said yes not all of us get along or like eachother. I know personally i have problems with some mods BUT no matter what i will back you wether in a thread or in chat or even in IM's. Because we have to show a face of unity on the board. For example Grumpy comes to me and asks me to change a bunch of statuses for the c-blocker thing a couple weeks back. I refused cause not all the members agreed to be c-blockers so grumpy resonds with "Hey whatever dude i know other people who will do it for me, you are not the only mod here." And in fact yes someone did change the statuses but that is understandable cause you guys didnt really know i said no to him. BUT that proves that people feel hey if i am friendly with one or two mods fuck the others. No matter who i am friends with on the board tequila or strawberry or seph i will not do mod favors for them. As a friend yes i could have deleted strawberry's status but i won't board and friends are different things. I was upset when someone deleted BalloonNots entire status. Unabnning afrika and deleting Ballon's status is something that should have been asked first. This is why we have BTS here to ask and discuss these things. Show some fuckin unity here please. It's been a while since we were a cohesive unit, instead of a gropu of individuals going their separate ways. Or peopel asking for mod favors and getting a no then going to another mod. we need to either be a coheisive single unit or we need new mods. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Slash and I noticed he was banned yesterday, or day before...and we were perplexed by it, since we had thought he left the board willingly. We were also perplexed by the new ban message which does not disappear when they are reinstated. However, kid A's status was left as BANNED b/c we figured someone did this for a reason, even though nobody knew who did it. It brings us back to the same point, we need to communicate more, and this kind of stuff gets alleviated. Neither Slash or I knew he was banned in the first place. And, upon our discovery, it was left that way, so I'm not entirally sure why it Gonzostyle found it UNBANNED. Since Kid A is the one I did the unban experiement to see if the message would go away, I could have left it by accident...but I could swear that I had banned him. Slash and I were going to leave him banned and then query other mods to find out as to reason. This was Friday, if memory serves me correctly. As for status's fiascos: I usually try to just add to them, than remove them or change what's there. However, many do come to me sometimes for status changes. Since the change was a change of something I had put in there previous, I usually don't think twice about it. If it's someone elses, and recent, I tend to not touch. But somebody definetly did it yesterday cause he asked me and that means he went and asked others. Plus when he came to me today about coming back and asked if his post was allright blah blah he was talking like he knew he was unbanned already. yet a few hours before he was asking me why he was banned. I agree that we all have to act as a unit here, maybe we should start a thread like we did for bannings a while back and instead of editing posts when we change a status, just post in that thread here to see if we should delete what is there, or just add to it. If jeff can be bashed for deleting a pic in a post and he took it and we squashed it, well atleast jeff replied and didnt hide. So whoever unbanned afrika should step up and be a man not a coward. Jeff and Buttmunch how about it? as far as afrika's unabnning i spoke to kid for 3 days straight before unbanning him and we went over many things he is doin ok so far. I am disgusted how mods are acting like their shit don't stink. I have always, always been one who will explain my actions in depth to back my decision wether a newbie or a mod asks. I have also always been a man of my word and a man of principle. I know mods have a right to be a little pompus and to be well mods. But when you start using your powers to gain an advantage in threads against defensless posters and unbanning members and fucking with statuses well that is plain abuse of power to me. Justjon got kicked for that and i feel any mod abusing his power so he doesn't look bad in front of others deserves to be demoded. There are still two people who have not answered i wish for them to answer it is very simple yes, or no that is all. Enough is enough, i disagree with what some mods do but you know what i respect their decisions. I do not meddle with it any further, and i have never used my mod functions for my own personal use to make myself look better or beat on someone with them. Anyone who does should be demoded and you know what fuck you for doing so. Cowards?
