| O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00  | just wanted to see what was up with everyone. its awful quiet in here bts. im just trying to make sure people are still alive and well and kicking. maybe start up a little chatter in here. kick around some ideas about things. talk about posters. you know, like we are spposed to be doing here. here ill start, what is everyone's opinion about Laughriot. i was talking to his stalker,(a.k.a. Kid) and he told me he was banned on the old board but because the banned list didnt transfer over, he was allowed ot post here. he said as much in the FC thread and that he petitioned an admin or mod to let him post again. does anyone know the story behind this and what are your overall impressions of him??? to me, sometimes hes funny but other times hes just plain old fucking annoying. sort of like slash, except without mod power;) but seriously, what do you people think of him? am i alone in my estimations of him?? look forward to reading your responses. see ya around fellow slackers:)  you know how hard it can be the way things are going they're gonna crucify me-john lennon | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | as I said in that FC thread, my take on the subject has always been once you're banned you're banned, no second chances, no nothing, if you're allowed to post it's merely because you haven't annoyed a mod enough for them to take the effort to ban you again, or they haven't run an IP check on you. In my opinion, I'm just waiting for laughriot/heap to get on my nerves..as far as I'm concerned Sean banned him 5+ times, and we don't need an excuse.. if i may add, much like crankyass, who's my personally least favorite board member next to KFC, and who's been banned more times I might add. As I just said in chat, the only reason I haven't started with cranky/aka pimp_hand is I don't want to allow my pre-mod emnities influence my job as a mod, and the fact that he is a foundry mod and I don't know how Jeff or Steve would feel about that sort of thing...err, sorry for taking the topic off laughriot, it's just I had to deal with him in chat just now, and I just seriously can't stand that guy. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | howdy y'all. don't know much about laughriot, though i do beleive he has had many incarnations...maybe one too many, on this board. but, then again, i haven't had a problem with him as of late. as for the banned and no second chances thought...Foundry Jeff would be included if that was the case. Same with Opak. Hmmmm, same with me. =) Jokes aside... Some of the foundry people are wayyyyy out of whack. (excluding Jeff and Matt) I think if they cross a line, boot the fuckers. They read the FAQ, just like anyone else. Maybe some ego's need to be put in check. In any case, lately, the only posters on my nerves are the ones perpetuating my fear that this board has suddenly become Peyton Place. When this place become a community from just a simple message board, couldn't we have limited some of the luggage some of the people were bringing???? There isn't a thread lately that doesn't have some sort of emotional baggage strewn in it. (This is in no way a criticism to some of the more serious things that have bubbled up, and is not about any of my fellow mods) Fuck it...I don't know, maybe I'm way off base. I'm a little rubbed emotionally raw from the last few days. It's just that something feels and seems wrong, and I can't put my finger on it. I'm curious to other people's perceptions on this. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | i'm alive -- but after last week -- lay'n low this week -- call it a mental Vacation -(+have to hit the job search hard) -- LR or Heep -or what ever -- bumped heads with LR once -- talked it out and has been ok in my book after that -- haven't been watch'n him cause i just don't care that much about him -- but after this he will have my eyes on him too --- as for CrankyAss -- he and i worked stuff out long ago -- if you need to tell him to calm down check chat FMAntD is him -- he understands and will do so Flock Formed!!! | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | my big problem is that lately the mods have really been getting no respect from posters. I don't mean we should start turning into Upuauat's but we really do need to start putting the law down. Many mods including myself have been losing interest in the board because we have not been getting the respect we deserve for the work we do. At every corner we are questioned and bashed for what we do. I don't mean they should bow to us out of respect but they should not treat us as their play things either. We need to put all personal differences aside and back eachother up, wherever any of us encounter a problem we need to IM eachother and stomp it out. That's just my view on things. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I definately agree, Gonzo. But I wonder if that lack of respect for mods is just a symptom for a general lack of respect and reverence for the board itself. It used to be "the place". I'm wondering if there is a general but subtle change in how members treat and view the board. Same people seem to post day in and day out, we've lost some older members, and there is a lack of new blood. My other thought, is most people have met most mods, and maybe, since they have seen behind the curtain, they tend to think less of mods than once before. | ||||

If he fucks up then we take action. I'm not on the board as much because of work, but I still post daily. I do agree to an extent that because a lot of the members have met a lot of us, they feel that they can fuck with on the board. "We're starting a new regime around here" to quote Tony Soprano. Crackbaby poster= Member who everyone feels should be raped, beaten, slapped about with a herring, humiliated, and banned, but hasn't done anything that really even rates a strike. Sorry, I've been on a slow boil all day with God of Phuk in fightclub... and the top just blew off with him in OT and Ltrain in GD... and I'm this close (pinches fingers) to giving laughriot a strike just on principle... and to top it all off, I can't do a damn thing to them for fear of losing my account again....
