| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | Please only punt people who spam the room. If a user is banned on oa.com and he logs in with his Foundry name, do not punt him. If there's a specific user you would like me to ban, (ie the Drunk boy situation), let me know, otherwise, spamming only. If a user is being annoying, instruct users to ignore them. I'm being serious. O&A's going syndicated, we're going to get a lot of more people in that chat room, and I don't want mods of either site turning it into an exclusive club. It's for everyone, even the tools. Moderate the message board as you see fit, this is my policy for the chat room. Anyone with problems executing this policy, please let me know. That's only going to drive away the other 8 to 10 people in the room rather than the one person causing trouble. Also, maybe certain rooms can have certain rules applied. the rules are there for the majority...it seems there is some bending going on for the minority (eg: Mavric and other wackbaggers who cause trouble) just a thought  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | that's fine with me Jeff. I just wanted to argue the point that a chat ridden with assfucks will only scare the masses away...like Candyland, for instance. It's quality, not quantity. Trust me on this one...if policy is that if you are a TOOL, then you're booted, people will feel more secure in the chat. I realize it's a business decision, but I think the proper way is to protect the majority, therefore, a control element to the forum will bring on more people in the end. Letting it be a free-for-all is bad business, b/c it will have no parameters, no protections, and does not make it comfortable for the many reputable posters and members of both sites. If you are going to go down that path, I suggest better IGNORE tools, so that we can truly IGNORE some miscreants (like in the AOL chats). Or some other tools that let the user (or mods) feel that they have some recourse versus some random elements that are bound to show up in the chat. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | If i may chime in on this one jeff. I spend a lot of time in the chat room and i agree with some of what you say. I know it is foundry's chat and it will be run as you see fit but the people are who count. You say even the F-tards should be allowed to stay in. Here is where i disagree my opinion is valid because i keep in touch with many members and i have spent and do spend much time in the chat room. Now i will agree at first we booted people for the heck of it. But with the people we booted there was an understanding and friendship but since then i along with alomst everyone else have ceased the booting as per your request. Now as far as the F-tards i can take a wild guess as to who complained. Now you say you want more people in chat well when Mavric was in chat here is a prime example of what to expect when you leave asswipes like him in the room. The mood of chat was very fun we were doing jokes back and forth and we have about 15 or 20 people in chat. As soon as mavric came in the chat turned from jokes and fun to insults and fighting because he was disrupting chat. Within 20 mins 8 people left, now do you wanna lose 10 people for 1 f-tard? cause that is what will happen? You gave us the mod position out of respect and because we are able enough to determine when booting and banning is neccesary. I stand by Mavric and anyone else who disrupts chat or makes people leave bannings. maybe boot them at first but if they persist to come back and insult the people and/or spam the chat they should be banned. We are moderators and i say we should be allowed to moderate as to our descretion abiding by yours or foundrys set rules ofcourse. I am not asking for free reign but some leeway to make our decisions otherwise why have moderators? let me point out two rules that were written by you i am guessing. These are two rules you agree to before entering chat quote: I am not telling you how to run chat but you better remember one thing before you worry about the $$$. It's never the cost but the outcome, you may lose 1 shitty member but it's better than losing 8 good ones. I think i possess just as much organizational and business skills and i believe i've made a point. I agree we need to work with eachother but we should be able to discuss and compromise as well. I like the way you stay on attack No matter what, I keep coming back And how you try to hold me down But you end up driven to the ground ...
