| Is anyone else watching this absolutely amazing match on USA right now? Sampras vs. Agassi- Men's Quarterfinal.
A classic. Too bad it's not on CBS on the final weekend.
Tune in if you have cable...
Sorry I didn't think to post sooner.
***edit: Sampras takes it in 4 sets. All 4 went to tiebreakers: 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, 7-6. Wow.

| Sampras has had the better of Agassi many times of late. It started with a straight set win a Wimbledon a few years ago and continues tonight as a forehand error costs Agassi the game.
I feel sorry for him. It was he who got me into watching Tennis a long time ago. When Agassi made his return I doubted he could go far but he did win a few titles while Sampras was momentarilly washed up (much like Sampraswent through, only for a shorter time, well now it appears he is back).
As long as we keep the US open championship IN the US, let anybody win.

| ive never seen a match like that, especially a match that had so much potential and actually came through. I have to admit i am rooting for sampras, and was last night as well. How can a guy be past his prime when he's only 30?? Agassi is 31 and no one is saying that he is past his prime. Anyway, what a great match!

Sampras Vs. Agassi Sets TV Record
-------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW YORK (AP) - Pete Sampras' four-set victory over Andre Agassi in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open attracted the largest tennis audience ever for a cable network.
USA Network's coverage of the Wednesday night match earned a rating of 4.1 with 3,422,000 homes tuned into the telecast. That translates to 4.6 million viewers.
The highest previous rating was a 5.9 for the Jimmy Connors-Paul Haarhuis match on Sept. 5, 1991. At that time, USA was seen in 62 percent of the country and the telecast reached 3,388,000 homes. The network is now in over 80 percent of American households.
Through the first 10 days of the U.S. Open, USA's primetime rating was 1.9, up 36 percent from last year's 1.4. The combined day-night rating is 1.5, up 36 percent from last year's 1.1.
