| 91% of people know what they are talking about.
If Yashin is worth 90 Million. Then Jagr is worth 200 Million.

| That's a drastic percent of the people, and for one, I agree.
Maybe 6 years from now, this deal might seem like a bargain.

| I think he is worth it. But, this just goes to show how much Canadaians hate anyone who holds out for $$$.
If it were OJ with skates, it wouldn't be as much of a landslide. |

And well they should. He was a greedy scumbag for signing a contract then holding out and there is no way he deserves that kind of money, even if he was that good (which he is not). Pavel Bure, Jagr, Sakic, Forsberg, Kariya etc. are all better players than him and I'm sure there are a handful more and they don't even deserve that kind of money. I am disgusted that the Islanders would make such a ridiculous deal. But I always knew Milbury was an idiot.I hope the Isles still finish dead last and "Cashin" falls flat on his worthless ass
thanks for the find wpp :)

| If I was an Islander fan I wouldnt be disgusted that they gave Yashin the cash.
Its better than the direction the team has gone the past few years.
But The Islanders would have been able to get Yashin for cheaper than this. I dont think Yashin would have been to quick to Hold out again. Especially with a new team.
But if Charles Wang is willing to dish out the cash, thats his problem. Islander fans need to stop treating Yashin likes hes a Hall of Famer, and treat him what like what he is. An All Star.

| FB, I couldn't agree more.
Yashin is a great player. A greedy player, not a superb player, but great. In New York, you need a quick fix. And what's quicker than a guy that holds out in Canada?
We will get to the playoffs in less than 3 years because of him, and then players won't loathe coming to Uniondale. I think that's the mindset. At that point, we won't care if he wants a billion dollars, we won't give it to him because there will be some players willing to come here. |

Did you figure out the rate of exchange with the votes? I think in this case 1 Canadian = 1/10 US ;)
Why do we keep limiting this to just one sport? There are plenty of players (Karl Malone, Rickey Henderson, Eric Dickerson, etc) who have either held out or bitched about a legal binding agreement (contract) which they willfully signed. They were more than happy with the $$ but one-two years down the line, once they see how 'under-paid' they are they start bitching. Though they are GREAT/HOF players - they lose A LOT in my eyes for this boorish/childish stance. I wish an owner would go back to a player and say - 'You had a shitty year, I want to re-negotiate and pay you LESS'
