| There was a poll on espn.com that asked this question. Over 120,000 people replied and 64 percent of them said yes. 36% said no.
Personally, i think they should play. We have to continue to pray for the victims of all of this, and sports are a way out from all of this too. I know it is tough, but if we dont continue our lives, the terroists win. They already have partially won, but we cant let them win anymore. Nothing will ever replace those people in the towers or in the planes, but we cant just roll over and let the terroists win. Even John McCain wants the NFL to play.
It will help the players as well to get away from it all, and be on the football field, together. Ultimately, this should be the players' decisions, not the league. Im curious to see what you all think about this question.

| I want them to play. America needs to see this. They need to get a feeling of normalcy.
But who knows...

| Its time to move on by Sunday.
Just sitting around and letting this effect us more doesnt help anybody.
We need some normalcy. We need to escape this. And their is no greater escape from Real Life, than Sports.
I heard a rumor that if they do cancel the games, one option being considered is to eliminate a Round of Playoffs and skip the Wild Card weekend, Having 4 teams in Each Conference make the playoffs, not 6. This plan would be ludicrous. Its tough enough to make the NFL playoffs as it is, you cant have basically an entire NFL Season effected 1 week in to the season.

This was on ESPN.com as a possible scenario:

Cancellation of all games to be made up on Jan. 5 and 6 -- currently the dates for the wild card weekend. The playoff field would be reduced from 10 teams to eight, with just one wild card team qualifying for the playoffs from the NFC and AFC.
I completely agree FB. If they do not play this week, is it so hard to move everything up a week and have the Super Bowl the first week of February? Completely changing the course of the season like that is unnecessary. However, I am indifferent on whether they play this week or not. It is really not that big of an issue, all things considered.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL will not play its 15 games this weekend following the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. League vice president Joe Browne did not say whether the games were canceled or postponed.
Pat Hanlon, vice president of communications for the New York Giants, said: "I wouldn't use the word canceled, but we're not playing this weekend."

| At first, I wanted to see them play. But think of the logistics. Those teams having to fly around the country to play with lesser preperation than usual and there minds never really totally in the game.
But a part of me would like to see them as gladiators who can put it behind them to help us forget.
