| Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Zanardi loses legs, Brack wins CART American Memorial LAUSITZ, GERMANY (TICKER) -- Two-time CART champion Alex Zanardi lost both of his legs Saturday following a horrific crash in The American Memorial. The 34-year-old Italian was listed in critical condition at Klinikum Berlin-Marzahn hospital following a crash with Alex Tagliani of Canada while trying to make his way onto the track following a late pit stop at the new EuroSpeedway. The race was won by Kenny Brack of Sweden. Zanardi lost control on pit lane and appeared to accelerate too early while sliding across the grass. Zanardi's car moved into the path of Tagliani's car, which was traveling at some 200 miles per hour, and the collision sent debris flying across the track. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | Horrible accident...but that what it was, a racing accident. These drivers were doing thier part to help the world return to a somewhat state of normal . They know and accept the risks of thier sport . Zanardi..who is an Italian National who drove for Morris Nunn racing..a Brit ..raced with an American flag on the sidepod of his car on Saturday and not the ussual Pioneer sponsorship . Get well soon AZ. | ||||

But DIFFERENT threads about different CART races that nobody cares about is unnecessary and annoying. it would be the equivalent of me posting Threads about my Triple Play Baseball Season. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Yes, I did create Shinjo. And I finished the Regular Season with the Best Record, and then what happens? I get swept in the First Round by the Dodgers. Heartbreaking stuff. And I did it in True Mets fashion. I lost Game 3 in Extra Innings, and in one of those Innings, I had Bases Loaded and 0 outs and didnt score. And I lost the series on a God Damn Sacrifice Fly by Gary Sheffield. After that I created a team with people from work and I was the Redsox, and I sucked, so I gave up. I am also VERY IRATE after finding out that Playstation is not carrying NHL 2002. Every other sports game is still being made for Playstation, but not NHL 2002. Those sons of bitches. Then I said, alright. Even though I have NHL 93-2001. I will switch over and get NHL Faceoff. But no!! They too are only having it available for Ps2. And I am not dishing out 350 bucks for a new system, when I only get 2 games a year. So I am stuck with playing NHL 2001 again this year. And that is my updated situation. Interesting right. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | Just a word for those of you who don't care about CART or why they raced this weekend. Here are the facts. CART which stands for Championship Auto Racing Teams is internationally reconized by the FIA as an open wheeled racing World championship .CART is traded on the NYSE as MPH. They run 1500 lb. open wheel cars that have over 900hp and can run on a super speedway at speeds excedeing 240 mph . CART runs 21 races on 5 continents . It is considered to be the most challenging form of auto racing in the world, as these cars run on small ovals ,superspeedways ,road and street courses . This weekend CART teams and drivers donated the entire purse from the race to the families of the WTC Disaster .Thats over 500,000 dollars. .CART is also going to donate most of ,if not all of the sactioning fee for the race held in Germany this weekend, which is around 5,000,000 dollars to the families of the firefighters and policemen who paid the ultimate sacrifice this past week . Don't ridicule a sport that you know nothing about . If you don't like motorsports thats fine ,but at least have a little knowledge about what your ridiculing. But no matter how much you like Cart and NYR likes Cart, 99% of this Board and this areas population, does not Care!! A seperate SINGLE Thread for Cart would not get any criticism from anybody. But NYR comes on every few days, and posts 10 different threads about all different races, with stupid pictures and it takes up the boards space. Alrighty. | ||||
