| Randy Johnson won his 3rd straight NL Cy Young, bringing him to a total of 4 Cy Youngs. Only three others have 4 Cy Youngs, Roger Clemens, Steve Carlton and Greg Maddux. Clemens will be looking for his sixth Thursday, when the AL Cy Young is announced. Carlton and Maddux have 4 each.
Johnson finished with 30 of a possible 32 first place votes. Curt Schilling receiving the two other first place votes finished second. Matt Morris finished 3rd, followed by Jon Leiber and Roy Oswalt.

| Pretty obvious he would win, the man's numbers are remarkable. I guarantee you that if Matt Morris was in the AL, hed win a Cy Young award this year too. I hate Clemens, but he'll win it, he did very good. I think Zito, Mulder, and C.C Sabathia will be close, but theyll give it to Clemens.

| Johnson was the clear favorite. But I don't think he really locked it up until the playoffs. Schilling had remarkable numbers too. But Johnson was a K machine this year, it helped him win. Clemens dadly will win another CY Young. But you have to give him credit.

| The Playoffs have nothing to do with Awards.
Its based only on Regular Season.
And personally I would have given it to Schilling. But you can go either way.

| I thought Schilling was going to get it to. But to argue AGAINST Johnson is pointless. He is just too dominant.
Even though the postseason doesn't count, You could certainly see why he won it with how he pitched in the World Series (3-0, 1.04).
