O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	I am not a huge Boxing fan so I have not heard of this guy, but this was really uncalled for, especially given the fact that this was a charity event. Interesting stuff. __________________________________________ Butler arrested after post-fight cheap shot -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ESPN.com news services NEW YORK -- Ruining what was supposed to be a night of charity and goodwill, James "The Harlem Hammer" Butler sucker-punched Richard Grant with his bare fist, moments after the 14-8 journeyman outpointed him by unanimous scores of 96-94 and 97-93 (twice) at the Roseland Ballroom. The criminal act shocked a national audience watching on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights. After the fight, Grant walked over to Butler as a sign of sportsmanship. As Grant was extending his arm for a hug the loser, Butler (without gloves), sucker-punched Grant in the face. Grant was waylayed. "Lock him up!" was chanted by the crowd, as Butler, who fell to 18-3, was escorted out of the ballroom by police officers. New York City police Sgt. James Foley said Grant suffered a broken jaw and was taken to St. Clare's Hospital in Manhattan. Foley also said Butler was in police custody and charged with second-degree assault. "James Butler is a punk," ESPN2 announcer Bob Papa said on the air. "That was a blatant assault and he should be arrested and taken out in handcuff. He is a disgrace to boxing, a disgrace to New Yorkers and a disgrace to the human race. I hope this network never shows him again." "Ya know, Repossessing things is the hardest part of my job."

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 01	I don't watch too much boxing either and I didn't catch this incident, but what an asshole he is for doing such a thing. He should take his ass-whipping like a man and move on. That being said, I would've loved to have watched it. Psychopath Registered: Sep. 01	Ha, it's funny watching a place full of cops just swarm in on him as they escorted him out(even though that clip was edited down). Hopefully he gets a stricter punishment than TheTyson. Getting punched by a professional(?) boxer has got to hurt enough, but without gloves, that's a life-threatening act. GodBlessAmerica.

Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00	I'm not much more than a casual boxing fan. But I've heard of Butler before and saw him fight a couple times. I thought he had a shot to be pretty good cuz of his great power. Too bad he chose to use that power when/how he did. Now I hope that prick gets his boxing liscense permantly revoked in all states.
