O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | The Islanders get their long awaited rematch from the ass kicking given to them a month and a half ago at the Coliseum. Hopefully Lindros will be in the lineup, if not, I still feel good about our chances of walking away with a victory. As always it will be fun, and its truly a Battle for First Place Tonight at the Worlds Most Famous Arena,Cant ask for more than that. Maybe Fleury will do the Hokey Pokey Tonight.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | What a difference a post makes. Dvorak hits the crossbar, and then Peca comes down on the 2 on 1 and scores and thats all for the game. Who would have thought the final score would be 2-1, after the first 3 1/2 minutes of the game and the score was 1-1. Ill give you guys credit, they played a good defensive games, didnt make the key mistake and the Rangers just couldnt get the equalizer.

Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | The Rangers certainly had there chances. But once again, the giving up the Power Play chances hurt us again. Not to mention a couple posts and crossbars. It pains me to admit it, but the Islanders played a very good game. VOS IS ABOUT AS FUNNY AS OPENING A LETTER CONTAINING ANTHRAX AND GIVING IT YOUR BABY!!!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | quote: Dude, did you watch the game? First off for the second straight game, the Rangers did a good job of staying out of the Penalty Box. They were only short handed twice for the 2nd Time in as many games. Which is a considerable improvement. Second off, the Islanders didnt score any Power Play goals. So your comment has no merit whatsoever.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | A well-played, even game. Close enough that the breaks made the difference, but that is the way it goes. quote: Actually FB, the winner was. 15:58 NY Islanders Michael Peca (Power Play) Assists: Claude Lapointe, Mariusz Czerkawski NY However I agree that it wasn't the normal Ranger poor special teams that were the problem; the PP goal came after Dvorak's short handed attempt, and it was the long rebound that lead to the Pecca shot. Good game by both teams, including Cairns?McCarthy getting their "issues" out of the way early. I would have preferred a different outcome, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Most disturbing Ranger statistic: Faceoffs won: Isles 50, Rangers 19 This message was edited by PeterDragon on 12-22-01 @ 4:12 PM

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Thats right I thought of it as a Short Handed Goal, because it wasnt a typical Set up Power Play Goal. But the Rangers were a half an inch away from going ahead 2-1 instead of trailing 2-1. But the point remains the same, Penalties are not what cost the Rangers this Hockey Game.

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | I was at the game, not to make any excuses, it just seemed like it was a matter of too many games in too few nights for the Rangers. They weren't that sharp in connecting with passes and all. They did play pretty well, but give the Islanders credit.... they were better. At least for that night anyway This message was edited by skydiver on 12-24-01 @ 1:15 PM

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | I actually saw this game in a bar in Mexico and I stayed and watched the second period. The Rangers weren't bad but the Isles were outplaying them. It was a good game to watch for a Penguin fan ;)
