for the first time in a long time, i had to appreciate the philly fan reaction toward something, in this case, booing that piece of shit Kobe. Of course hes gonna have the most points when he takes the most shots. And i thought Iverson was a ball hog....

Tremendous player? Yes - Person I'd like to see get hit by a speeding 18 wheeler? YES

Good job by the Philly fans, my pure hatred for them has now been downgraded to your run of the mill hatred.

Im not a big Kobe Bryant fan either, but what did the guy do to get booed like that in his hometown? Its just typical Philadelphia. If the guy was from New York and he came back to New York Im sure he wouldnt get that reaction.

Anyone else would be honored to be booed like that. It's out of respect believe it or not. The guy was part of a team that whooped our Sixers' asses in the finals. What did he expect a standing ovation? He's just a whinning little spoiled brat to take such offense. He isn't even from Philly anyway. He's a stuck up suburbanite, with no respect for our city and fans. So f him! I would like to see your cities reaction to a situation like this. I bet it would be the same boo-fest. Some guys just can't take it. Their little feelings get hurt...boo hoo. Yeah, go sulk Kobe. No hero's welcome here in Philly unless you're wearing a Sixers logo. Visit this Website

Cry babies you all just wish that he was playing in philly. Say what you want he can get it done when it counts, and that is why he has two championship rings.

It wasn't just one thing Kobe did to get booed at the All-Star game. He is from the area, and he left. That wasn't what got him booed though. First, he's on the Lakers, who beat Philly in the finals last year. Second, when he was back in Philly during the Finals he said he doesn't consider it his home town, that he thought LA was his home, and that he wanted to "cut Philadelphia's heart out". Third, the East was the home team and they got beat, it wasn't close. They booed the guy who did best on the visiting team.
Kobe's highly visible, so that make's him stand-out above all the other rivals. He distanced himself from the city, and that put alot of fans off. He put his foot in his mouth, but now he's a Philly kid and his feelings are hurt. It was not right for the fans to boo at the All-star game. He wasn't there as a Laker, he was just there as a all-league player. I thought it was an inappropiate reaction, but not the big deal that the national media is making it. The fans didn't throw shit at him, they just voiced their displeasure, they paid for the seats, they kept it clean, no one should bitch about this. Finally, New York has no more or less class than the Philly fans. If Reggie Miller scored 30 in an All-Star game at the Garden, he would have been booed. The same if Iverson scored 30 up there. Philly has a bad rap and its easy to lable them as the worst fans in the league.

Good that Kobe was booed. I hate the arrogant, primadona son of a bitch.

He thinks he's cool that his shoes were made by a car company.

I hope the Lakers dont repeat. Im starting to hate them. I hope the clippers meet them in the playoffs and upset them. Its bad enough they must play in their same building.

Booing Kobe was fucking awsome. The only thing better was when destiny's child got booed last year at the championship for wearing laker's jersey's and lip synching. They cried!!! That was hilarious.

Is Reggie Miller from New York? No. Reggie would maybe get booed because we've had a long history with him. And if Iverson or anybody else scored 30 they wouldn't get booed, why? Because its a Fuckin All Star Game!! Who the fuck cares who wins. Your there to be entertained by the greatest players in the World, does it mean two shits if the East wins or the West wins?

So what, deal with it. You want him to stay with the city he went to hs at for college (for most athletes) and the pros? When Marbury returns to NY, the fans come out just to see him. And native Long Islander Wally Sczerbiak(who went to Ohio for college and now plays in Minnesota) was loved so much that he got the front page of the Sunday Sports section of Newsday the day he was to make his first all-star appearance. New Yorkers actually appreciate people who have talent, regardless of where they went on to after that. People do their thing, then move on, get over it.

No, its not the same at all, Reggie isnt booed just because he scores most of his points against us and has a few W's. It's because he starts fights with our players (and even fans) and then backs down, tells the New York fans regularly to suck his dick (in gestures), and constantly trashes the city. Look at people who just kick our ass on the court and leave it on the court, and you'll see that we don't hate them like they raped our mother (Like Vince Carter who beat us last year in the playoffs and Jordan who beat us almost every year, but they still get cheered).
There's a reason why Philly gets the label, its because they do treat the athletes like their shit. You'll see, if Iverson ever left, he'd be the most hated and abused man in Philly, even though now you all love him.

Thanks to Brokenjaw for the sigpic

Moss should have given the ball to his coaches to spike, or at least invited them onto the field to take part in the celebration, because they were the ones who made that score possible. But don't tell that to Randy, it would only take away from the glory he believes he deserves for being as great as he is. Click here for the whole article

Athtletes from Philly get cheered when they come back to play. Rasheed Wallace is still respected in the city. Philadelphia fans demand alot from their athletes, but they treat them like gods once those athletes earn the respect. Dr. J and Wilt are still legends, same w/ some of the old Flyers. Guys who are not from Philly, but who played here a while stay. Even after they are done and retire, they stay around and get cheered everywhere they go. Philadelphia is no different than any other sports town. They don't boo in New York? Chicago? Boston? If anything, Philly fans are more loyal to their athletes than New York fans.

I don't know what the big f'in controversy is. He was booed because he is a Laker and the Lakers beat the Sixers in the Finals last year. Remember that? Fuckin ponderous.

Anyone remember when Joe Carter came to Philadelphia for the MLB All-Star game awhile back? What happened there? He was booed lustily. Had nothing to do with him being from Philly, cause he's not. The prick cost us a World Series when he slammed that cream puff Mitch Williams threw over the left field wall. I cried that day. But anyhow, Carter got booed. He laughed about it, because he's classy and he understands.

Kobe's reaction at the game confirmed what many others have thought all along. Kobe is an egomaniacal jerk off. Great player, but still an asshole. I could care less that he is from the Philadelphia area. His getting booed had nothing to do with it in my mind (Well maybe just a little). But if he had smiled and laughed it off, he would have eventually earned respect from the fans in this city just like Joe Carter has.

Shit, now I'm all worked up. Now I want to start a FU Joe Carter thread.

so the Spurs beat the Knicks in the 99 Finals. I dont think your going to see Tim Duncan or David Robinson getting booed like that.

Philadelphia fans are loyal to their ex players? Ask Eric Lindros that.

This is speculation. Was the All-Star game in NY the following year? If it was I bet there would have been boos.

Better ask Lindros while you still can. His brains are pretty close to jelly by now. One more shot could end him. Anyhow, there are two camps in Philly that I have noticed concerning Lindros. Some people love him and miss him. Some people don't like him and were sick of him riding the bench or being nonproductive in the clutch (for the most part). I am in the second camp. He's your problem now. Enjoy.

I'm in the Philadelphia camp that's worried about Lindros. He really shouldn't be playing at all. I havn't seen his last few games, but if he has to play tenative, he should just hang up his skates. When he was here (Philly) he played balls out hockey. He didn't care about getting hurt, he also has a condition that makes him prone to head injuries, the two don't mix.
I'm glad Eric's gone because the Lindros family/Bob Clarke fued was old. I was tired of hearing that a trade was a "done-deal" and having it fall through again and again. He made the Flyers really good. They didn't make the playoffs for a few years before he got here, he took the Flyers to the finals. I will always respect him for that. I hope he plays out the year and retires.

Good. I don't want anyone outside of Philadelphia rooting for the Sixers anyway. I bet there were a few people out there during the Finals last year who didn't mind rooting for the Sixers.
