O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00 | And we have our first upset. Belarus takes out highly touted Sweden 4-3 on a shot from center ice that hit off of Tommy Salo's glove and snuck behind him. A great start to the knockout round and really got the crowd excited down the stretch. One of the better games I've seen in a long time. Next up Russia vs. Czech Republic Sometimes we can choose the path we follow. Sometimes our choices are made for us. And sometimes we have no choice at all. O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | I was shocked, Belarus has been getting blown out every game in the last couple of Olympics, now they barely go down 6-4 to the Russians, and then they beat the best team, Sweden. Man I just couldn't stop laughing when I saw Mats Sundin's face. LOL This message was edited by rageparty on 2-20-02 @ 3:33 PM

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Un fucking believable. I couldnt believe what i was watching. This has to be the biggest upset ive ever seen in my life. Sweeden could wipe the floor with these guys talent wise 99 times out of 100, but today was Belarus's day. It was also incredible listening to the fans in the stadium, as the game went along, chanting for Belarus. And to think that this is only the 2nd ever olympic games for this team. Tommy Salo must want to kill himself right now. Go Knicks, Giants, Rangers, and Rutgers Men's Basketball (clinched NIT bid already, now shooting for NCAA bid) Long Live Psycho Bitch

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | I never knew it was only their second Olympics. IN that case, it's a huge leap forward for this country. Do they have any players on that team that play in the NHL? As for Tommy Salo, he played awsome this whole tournament, the whole team underestimated Belarus. If anyone shotts themselves, Sundin could take one for the team :)

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Belarus has Russan Salei who is a mediocre at best player on the Mighty Ducks. Andrei Mezin the goalie might have just played himself onto an NHL team. You have to feel bad for Sweden, but they should have taken them more seriously, and hopefully this will be a wakeup call for the US to not take Germany lightly tonight. biggest winner out of all this is Canada. I would be shocked if Canada isnt at least in the Gold Medal game.

O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00 | On a side note, this msnbc coverage is pissing me off. They have missed 2 live goals so far today. First they missed Sundin's game tying goal in the first game and now they missed Russia's first goal in the game going on now. too many damn commercials going on Sometimes we can choose the path we follow. Sometimes our choices are made for us. And sometimes we have no choice at all.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | well what can they do? They have to have commercials, and theres only 15 seconds in between the whistle and face-off. So theres nothing they can do. And only have 1 commercial, sometimes 2, thats it. you cant blame NBC for that.

Russia vs Czech Republic = One of the highest quality goaltending games ive ever seen. Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | What pissed me off the most was that I missed it and didn't tape it. I've been taping most of the games but figured there was no need to tape that one. Oh well. I know a girl from Sweden who was going to the game. She's probably devastated. What an upset. Canada probably shat their pants when they saw that though. They get two games to get their act together for the gold medal game. Lucky bastards. ------------------- But there's also this: there are over 5,000 men in this city, who know that being a policeman is an endless, glamourless, thankless job that's gotta be done. I know it, too, and I'm damn glad to be one of them."

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Well, USA moves on to face Russia, already two of my picks to go on to semis are out. What a game buy Khabeebulin (sp?) He shut down a stacked Czech team. USA played a great game, nice job by the Germans to even qualify for the tournament, we have to give 'em some credit. Canada faces off later tonight, and they'll probably win.
