Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | The answer to both questions is Nolan Ryan. He had his # retired by Texas, Houston, and California (Anaheim). He struck out 383 in 1973, beating Koufax' record by one. If you want to get technical, though, Matt Kilroy had 500+ K's one year in the 1800's, but pre-1900 records aren't officially recognized. Next question: On June 23, 1917, Ernie Shore entered a game in the first inning with a man on first and no outs. He picked off the runner and retired the next 26 batters, but he isn't credited with a perfect game since he didn't start. Who did start that game? Metal / Wrestling / Baseball Ninja / pr0n

Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | Shit, too late for the Bossy question. Here's a decent football one: Name the two famous nicknames for Hall of Famer Harold Grange, All-American running back at the University of Illinois in the early 1920s, then for the Bears until 1935. Also for the hockey fans: Who was the last NHL player to NOT wear a helmet? ___________________________________________________________________ I'm bigger than the Devil combined with Schindler's list. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | The answer to my question is indeed Babe Ruth. Tequila, Ruth started 38 games for Boston in 1917. (Baseball-Reference.com) Totally stumped on the father/son question. Bob Boone never hit more than 12 HR's in a season, though. Jose Cruz Sr. never hit 20 either. Tough question... Metal / Wrestling / Baseball Ninja / pr0n
