Lacrosse is the next toughest sport to Football, it's great to watch but from personal experience, not too fun to play at times....  Shit Can Happen | ||||

Odd, i NEVER watch lacrosse at al until the championship game on memorial day every year. And every year the game is good. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | I never knew anything about lacrosse until about a year ago when my friend got a job with the NJ Pride of MLL and got free tix. He now just so happens to work for the NJ Storm so I went to a couple of their games. I have to say I didn't like the sport that much at all; I don't understand how it has gotten so popular in suburbia. But if I had to choose which was a more exciting version of it, it would have to be the indoor NLL. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I don't know how I missed this (maybe because it wasn't in sports), but I enjoy college LaCrosse. I went to Cornell, and there were only 2 sports that we were competitive in: Hockey & lacrosse. I followed the tournament a little until Cornell got knocked out, then watched some of the finals. Nice to see ESPN showing NCAA lacrosse highlights. It's a very good sport but very regional - Long Island, upstate NY, Baltimore area mostly. Jim Brown has said if they had pro lacrosse when he played for Syracuse he would have chosen that over football. Side note in today's newsday - they had a little tribute to the 25th anniversary of Cornell's NCAA title, and they had a moment for one of the team members who died in 9-11.  2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (You gotta believe....) 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hes the reason i don't like Lacrosse. that and the fact that i think there should be more padding. | Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | I taped the game, still haven't watched it yet. I'll probably watch at work. I like both pro leagues. Box is closer to hockey,more physical. Outdoor is much more mental.I'd say for the MLL I'm a LI Lizards fan and NLL I'm a Philly Wings fan. I go to almost every home game for the Wings, I live about an hour away from the FU Center. Once a season I get to hang out with a couple of the guys from the team to do promos for them and the store I work for.Out of all the sports I've played I think it's the best.It's the fastest growing sport in the country and it's fun! | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | I never even thought of Lacrosse until I attended Syracuse but I've watched the NCAA championships the past 3 years. (Though I never made it to a game at the Dome) Saturday and Monday's games were fantastic and SU once again prevailed. The Powell family rules the sport.

| Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | I can't say that I've heard of him but I have heard of a couple of people like him though. I work with this one kid who with some friends at school and help from Mom put together a HS club team with about 30 kids on the roster. Totally unsanctioned the school refused to divert sports program funding for their own HS team. The HS wouldn't let the team use the fields. So the coach,players and their parents bought all the necessary shit with their own money. They even held bake sales!! They played over 20 games this season and didn't do to bad for their fist year. | ||||

The frat boys actually had a party down the block and i wanted to come since i knew the kid who was throwing it. But this big guy at the door(and this was a house party) said "only close friends and family of the lacrosse team". It looks like the entire fucking neighboorhood came down and were turned away as well. It just goes to show that they are snobs and cliqiush. Maybe when and if I go to college, I'll play it as an intramural sport. That is, unless I can pick up ice hockey or boxing instead. | Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | It is an expensive sport. Equipment can cost a lot. If you start playing get new stuff from past season sales. It's the same just modified or design changes. The cost is ten to fifteen bucks cheaper. I sell lax stuff so I don't want to whore for anyone. I'll say all equipment makers have good shit for beginners that aren't that high priced. Weigh the sports that you want to play against the likelyhood of you actually playing plus what your budget is. All three that you mentioned are probably going to cost you the same.Go onto sites that sell and see what you can find. | Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | Also look around for a club team not associated with a school. They usually get sponsers from local businesses. You don't get ranked but you can get to play against Division teams. My brother in law played all through HS then a club team and now for his college team in Latrobe, PA. It's worth looking into. | ||||
