| If they do, they will be for lack of a better term 'raped' since EVERYONE knows that's what they need.
I'd hope they mortgage the future for a plyoff run that is a pipe dream at this point. Khaibulin would be the only goalie they should go after, but they need to remember it will take them awhile for him to get into game condition. If they get him, say GOOD-BYE to Richter

| If Sather can make a move without giving up too much or guys like Brendl or Lundmark, he will do it. I say forget it Khabibulin. The guy hasnt played in 2 years, and even if you get him, I dont care if God is in Goal for the remainder of the season, the Rangers are not making the playoffs.
Next year you go out and get a goalie, let him fight it out with Richter next year. You bring up the young guys like Brendl,Lundmark, Mottau, Purinton, Malhotra, and Kloucek and you blend them in with the key veterans.

| Well with Brendl or Lundmark, you would have to trade with a team that looks to rebuild. From the looks of these two prospects, they might not even make the NHL at a high level. And even if they could they couldn't play this season, so I don't think to many teams would trade a #1 goalie for ifs. Anyway my thoughts of the NY Agers.
Rangers Suck!

| Phoenix would. Thats the deal in question.
And I am certainly not ready to trade Brendl or Lundmark for Nikolai Khabibulin

| They will only trade older players now -- look for them to move Graves (in the right deal) Kamensky (if they can),Lefebvre to a top team, Pilon if there are any takers,Gusarov same as pilon

| 9 Points behind Carolina with Philly, Ottawa coming up...I'd say the playoffs are a near impossibility.
I'd say try to get a young goaltender or other young defensemen for a Nedved, Graves or other scrubs like Kamensky, Pilon, LaCroix, Lefebve or Grosek.
Then let Malhotra, Cloutiek, etc. get some major ice time to see if they can play on this level |

| Francine - You're right. Brendl and Lundmark are too much to give up for Khabibulin.
Raven - Unless they agree to absorb the majority of his contract, the Rangers will be lucky to get a used stick bag for Kamensky! He has been absolutely horrible since donning the Blueshirt.

| Maybe from a Rangers standpoint Brendl/Lundamrk is too much to give up, but maybe in CoyoteVille That's not enough to give up. Brendl and Lundmark are not even NHLers yet and may never be good NHLer, as Nikolai has proven himself in the NHL and will need time to get back to himself. But for a quick playoff run, they might as well keep McLean.

| Raven, I would love to see some teams take some of the older guys off our hands, but who in their right minds is going to touch Valeri Kamensky especially with his contract.
And I would trade Sylavin Lefebvre and Alexei Gusarov for a magnetic schedule or something. Those guys are horrible. I would much rather see Purinton and Mottau give up the puck and not hit anybody than to see Those 2 douchebags do it.
