Darryl Kile, a starting pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, was found dead in his hotel room in Chicago on Saturday, team officials confirmed. No cause of death is known at this time.



2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (modified version)(You gotta try and believe....)
1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice
1a. Try and go a week without having to punch a wall in frustration after watching the Mets play
2. 90 Wins and somehow get the Mets into playoffs this year
3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
3a.Have team understand it is OK to get a hit with runners on base.
4. Mets win World Series (after divine intervention)

What's kind of freaky is that they didn't find out until just before game time. everyone was at the stadium, and at 2:20 CT LaRussa walked across and told the Cubs GM and player rep Joe Girardi. It was Girardi who announced to fans, and then they postponed the game.
