Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | With the 30 greatest moments being voted on, which moments of the 30 are your picks? I know for sure it's the Reggie Jackson three homers, Nolan Ryan's 7th no hitter, and The Red Sox fuck-up that ended their World Series hopes ( I shall not mention that team that won)

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Shall we start the conspiracy theories? Fox showed "greatest WS moments", and of them there was one with Yankees winning (1956 - Larsen), and TWO with Yankees losing (1960 & last year) :-p It must have been their anti-Yankee bias :-D (I know I'll regret this) 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (modified version)(You gotta try and believe....) 1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice 1a. Try and go a week without having to punch a wall in frustration after watching the Mets play 2. 90 Wins and somehow get the Mets into playoffs this year 3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year 3a.Have team understand it is OK to get a hit with runners on base. 4. Mets win World Series (after divine intervention)

Psychopath Registered: Mar. 02 | I thought it was great that they threw in the Red Sox error along with all of the other great homeruns/performances. As for the Yankee conspiracy thing... I was thinking along the same lines when they showed last years series and the 60s one.

Psychopath Registered: Mar. 02 | I once saw a plaque that had the picture of Nolan ryan with ventura in the headlock. the caption was "the only man to get 7 hits off of Nolan Ryan" And for me, the greatest moment was the Yankees beating the mets in the world series. Not that it was great for baseball, but for all Nyers that are yankee fans, that was the best victory. having the title and getting to shove it in the mets fans faces. Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | The greatest moment in baseball has to be either: 1) Lou G. goodbye speech. "I am the luckiest man.....on the face of the earth." 2) Willie Mays' over the back catch. That is incredable!! And he stopped a run from scoring!! Lets see Barry Bonds do that!

Even though as a Met fan I'll always enjoy the buckner gaff and the "miracle mets", and even though I can truly appreciate seeing Reggie's 3 bombs, I think the greatest WS moment I've seen was the Kirk Gibson homer. The guy could barely run, he took a one handed swing, and somehow it went out. quote: Interestingly enough, Willie was quoted as saying today that it wasn't his best catch. 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (modified version)(You gotta try and believe....) 1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice 1a. Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | I am no fan of baseball, actually I hate it. But my most memorable moment is Don Matingly's (sp.?) home run to win the series God knows how many years ago. The man wept his way around the bases. Brings a smile to my face every time I think about it. It is the only play I can remember other then the worst of hits. You know the ones where you see the pitcher's arm snap in half or the batter/catcher takes a 90mph ball to the face. Those make me smile too.

Psychopath Registered: Mar. 02 | I'll add one to your Funniest Videos list. Some game five or so years ago, the catcher was thinking pitch-out, while the pitcher was thinking fastball, so the pitcher rifles it and the catcher springs out of the way just in time for the ump to take one squarely in the mommy-daddy button. As for the Nolan Ryan/Robin Ventura plaque; I'd spend really good money for that. Think I'll look around on ebay. AIM | E-mail

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | THe greatest thing I ever saw was when some minor leaguer had come up to the majors for a few games, either for the Yank, or against them (it was like a year or two go). Anyway, they showed a clip of a minor league game where he gets angry during his at-bt over a pitch to him, he kicks the cathes in the head, then charges the mound, and he gets surrounded by the whole team. Who was that???

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | quote: On a very slightly related topic, Here's a moment you might never have heard of. "The Reds were up 1-0 in the eighth inning of the third game of the 1972 World Series. They had runners at second and third after a wild pitch ball three. The count on cleanup hitter Johnny Bench was 3-2 and first base was now open. Oakland manager Dick Williams theatrically pointed to the open base at first. Catcher Gene Tenace set up to receive an intentional-walk pitch. But Rollie fingers threw a strike and struck out the surprised Bench." 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (modified version)(You gotta try and believe....) 1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice 1a.
