Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | The rumors have started, so I feel so should the thread. Two big articles involving possible Met dump trades have come out in the last two days. View them here: Visit this Website And here: Visit this Website The biggest rumor is the Alomar to Dodgers for 3B Adrian Beltre and P Omar Daal. For the Dodgers, I guess Grudzielanek would move to third and obviously they'd get the greatest second baseman of all time who, following the Robin Ventura Rule, will start to play like a Hall of Famer now that he'd be off the Mets. For the Mets, getting Daal with the pitching staff having almost nobody signed for next year and this move making it posible for Fonzie to move back to second and batting second, where he's happy, I think this might be a good move. The only thing is thisd move is clearly to ensure we sign Fonzie next year. With his last two years, I'm not sure that should be too much of a prioriy. But, whatever, we'd definitely have a better chance of resigning him if this trade goes down. What does anyone else think? And who the hell would want McEwing after recent events? 1. 94 Wins and the NL East title 2. Hate the Braves with a passion. 3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year 4. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | The only reason I might make the Alomar/Beltre trade is because Beltre is only 23. I could care less about Daal. Alomar will do better the 2nd half - a) he was much better last year 2nd half, and b) - Doesn't anyone remember what Piazza was like when he first arrived from FLA? everyone was booing him because he struggled. Alomar just needs to get comfortable. Any package has to be better than what we gave up (most notably Billy Traber, who will be a stud pitcher) McEwing has ruined his career with that stupid leg kick. He decided he was a power hitter, and went from being a contact hitter to one of the Mets strikeout crew. Unfortunately the biggest culprits will still be here because they are unmovable (burnitz, vaughn and Cedeno). Whatever they do needs to be long range. And of course that won't happen. 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (modified version)(You gotta try and believe....) 1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice 1a. Try and go a week without having to punch a wall in frustration after watching the Mets play 2. 90 Wins and somehow get the Mets into playoffs this year 3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year 3a.Have team understand it is OK to get a hit with runners on base. 4. Mets win World Series (after divine intervention) | ||||

Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | Well, what does everyone think of the Mo Vaughn to Boston trade rumors? If we do a Raul Mondesi of the Blue Jays deal I wouldn't mind from a team standpoint. Hell, I really wouldn't mind from a baseball standpoit, because unlike with the Mondesi deal, where the Yankees got Mondesi because the Blue Jays couldn't pay him, here the Mets are just unloading him cuz he's sucked monkey balls. Get rid of him along with half his salary for a piece of dirt and hold Piazza to gunpoint til he moves to first next year (train a whole offseason for it, I'm not asking him to move tomorrow) and I'll be happy. I've been so disappointed with Mo. This move would only work for me if Piazza moves to first though. 1. 94 Wins and the NL East title 2. Hate the Braves with a passion. 3.
