| Since this is one of the quietest sports days, everyone seems to be bring up gloom & doom of labor negotiations. The concensus seems to be not will the players strike, but for how long.
If they do strike, will you go back afterwards? will you cancel your Yes Network/MSG/etc cable package?
I think Donald Fehr and the Owners are way out of touch with reality. Each side wants to give up nothing.
While I'll be truly pissed, I cannot say that I won't go back. I'd never go to a "replacement" game, but when they settle I'd probably go back to buying tickets. A lot depends on what your team does. For example, After 94, the Mets seemed to try and cull favor again by trying to be fan friendly. There were 2games for 1, cheap concession nights, etc.

1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice
1a. Try and go a week without having to punch a wall in frustration after watching the Mets play
2. 90 Wins and somehow get the Mets into playoffs this year
3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
3a.Have team understand it is OK to get a hit with runners on base.
4. Mets win World Series (after divine intervention) |

| Well if they do strike it is like saying fuck you to the fans, which I said in another post. If that does happen I hope they all die a slow and painful death. The games are boring as it is, and drag on forever.

| I think the MLB is the only institution that refuses to bargain on anything until absolutely completely nescessary. Where else in the business world would you see a corporation refuse to give ground to the point of the potential great loss of profit (ie - cancelling games, ect.) the MLB needs to give up its current business model and start fresh with something that actually works.

| I'm a baseball fan for life so of course I'll keep watching. The owners are whiny bitches but I also hate Selig. It's a losing situation for fans, and I hope Selig resigns or gets in a car accident.
And I swear I don't have a gun...

Actually that happens often in labor negotiations. My wife is a NYC Teacher, and the city couldn't get together on a deal until about 2 years after the contract expired and a strike vote was taken.
In baseball though there is an interested 3rd party - the fans - who get screwed.
