Mine was David Cone's perfect game against the Expos on Yogi Berra day.

What was yours?

The late game comeback when the Yanks played the Phillies last year. Half the park had cleared out.. and the Yanks were like down 8-1 or something in the 8th and just kept slapping their way on base.

Either that or any of the comeback playoff games last season.

The Best Game I ever attended
was the Mets-Yankees Saturday Afternoon game in 1999 when Matt Franco got the game winning hit off Mariano Rivera. It was an amazing game. The lead changed numerous times and the Yankees hit 6 HR's that game. Who would of though that Matt Franco would be the hero.

I was in the front row on the 50 yard line, for the Giants vs. Cowboys, first game of the season in '96, when Dallas last won the Superbowl....It was great, Cowboys won 35-0 and Shante Carver handed me his gloves...fucking rocked!

I should note I was at the Giants-Vikings NFC Championship in January. 41-0 definately goes up there as one of the best.

I would have to sort games by sport.

MLB: Game Four Of the World Series 2000. Close Game, Low Score, I love that.

Hockey: A few games:
1. 1995 Stanley Cup Final Game Four :P
2. 2000 NHL All Star Weekend
3. 2000 Devils/leafs Game Six
4. 2000 Devils/Flyers Games 6/7
5. 2000 Devils/Stars Games 1/5 (Even though the Devils lost, it was a great game)

Basketball: Who wastes money on that?
Shitmen: They haven't had one in their history yet.

MLS!!!!! Metros/??? in the first MLS playoff game ever. It went to OT SHootout, great game.

NFL. Jet/Dolphin this year.

Rangers Suck!

I believe it was October of 1993. I was in High School and I went to the home opener of the Tampa Bay Lightning's second season in the NHL. It was against the Florida Panthers, and at that game the fans set a NHL record for the most fans at one game. It was great. Even though the team isn't that good, I was proud to be a participant at a league record setting game.

Mine would be last years Mets/Atlanta game where the Mets scored eight runs I believe in the 7th inning. The crowd went absolutley bezerk.

Second would be the 1986 clinching of the NL East against Chicago Cubs. My friends and I ran out onto the field and grabbed Shea sod. It still grows in my fathers backyard to this day.

Well if I attended Game 7 Rangers vs. Devils in 94 that would definetly be My #1.

That the greatest game I have ever seen, and Matteau scoring that goal is the My Person Greatest Moment in Sports History. Its even a better moment than when they won the Cup.

Yankees-Brewers. Milwaukee County Stadium sometime in 76. Not a game with any particular playoff implications but a great game from a personal experience.

I was (and still am) a diehard Brewers fan. Friends and I had seats second row behind the plate. Thurmon Munson was catching for the Yanks. We were drunk and obnoxious as hell and we were just giving Munson as mutch shit as we could. Finally towards the later innings, after warmimg up the pitcher, Munson turns around looks at us, flips us the finger, points at me and says "bite my ass dickwad". It made our day that we got to him. I believe it was that year or the following year he died in the plane crash. We all met at a bar to raise a toast to honor him.

One other quick note. Attended the Flyers - Lightning game yesterday. One of the best "hockey purist" games I've seen in a long time. 0-0 tie, great shooting, incredible goaltending, awesome penalty killing and tons of hard hits and fights. Not often do you see a 0-0 tie that was played so well.

Robin Ventura's grand single against the Braves in game 5 of the 1999 NLCS. I sat in the loge section out in left field and got to see what a complete tool John Rocker is first hand. During batting practice the fucking hillbilly is teasing 10 year olds by pretending to throw balls into the stands, and then roll them towards them, but just out of reach. Real class John. We fucked with him after that by yelling things like "who is a better lay John, your mom or your sister." Great game, great time !

Spider, that doesn't bother me. Im not a Dallas Stars fan.

Also Adam Graves Game 5 Overtime Series Clincher at the Meadowlands in 97 rates up there too. Almost an identical goal to Matteau's just different end of the rink.

Rangers vs. Devils Game 7 in 92 was pretty good too

Or should I say left early.

2 games that I went to had great finishes, but because I left early I did not get to see them.

1)Think it was in '98 where the Yankees were down 2 in the 9th inning and Bernie Williams hits a 3 run homer in the 9th to win it. I left in the top of the 9th.
2)Jets vs Seattle Seahawks, where Vinny Testerverde's helmet scored the winning touchdown. The refs ruled it a touchdown, and since there was no instant replay rule, they did not see that the ball was about 2 feet from crossing the goal line and only his helmet had crossed. I left early 4th quarter.

That's what you get for bringing your girlfriend (now your wife) to a game. I'm a tool.

Best game: Mets/Dodgers, 1988 playoffs, game 3. Rained all game until Wally Backman bats in the 8th. The sun busts out just as he slaps the game winning double into the right centerfield gap. That was the game when Hernadez fell in the mud between 2nd and 3rd and crawled on all 4s to get to base, only to be thrown out with a foot to go. And Kirk Gibson made a miracle catch as he fell in left field. If he stayed on his feet, its a double.

Great game.
