O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00	i was in section 239 row 9 seat 6, the game was starting it was very tense, and i knew that the shit was goin down 1st period- rather boring actually, no one really did anything, although some guy threatened to kick my ass because i was cursing in front of his son, oh well... 2nd Period- 2-0 lead over the rangers, things looking very good, all devils fans around me are getting psyched, my friend that came with me covers his face in embarrasment, high fives all around my section, god i love this game 3rd- the shit has finally hit the fan, first fist fight between devils and rangers fans, the fight concentrated on 2 people, the rangers fan got his shirt torn off and punched 3 times according to my scorecard, the yhad to clear out half the section, and another fight still continued, same section, ushers swarmed the scene, a woman was traumatized, and she had to be carried off. third fight happened on the other side, as another group of rangers fans got in a fight with more devils fans, we jeered the fuck out of em, as they cried back to their pathetic little lives. result: 4-0 devils win, marty's 50th shutout, greatest experience in my life! 300 posts and i still have no fucking clue

O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00	the biggest asshole chant came from that fight i thikn yes, because the kid started crying, and just jolted outta there, followed by a fat rangers fan that yelled at us 300 posts and i still have no fucking clue

Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 01	It dont matter anyway. The Rangers will always suck. There is no doubt about that. I could care less about the Devils, but what the Rangers need to do is stop trying to put a focus on guys like Messier and start rebuilding. Sometimes I wish I could be just like everyone else, then I realize how much they all suck.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00	with ALL DUE RESPECT raven, at the risk i may get a strike, please dont try to make rangers fans sound any more righteous than devils fans, they have their share of obnoxious fans as well, and i bet anything that those fights were mutually initiated, and not by just 1 side heckling the other, but if u get a ranger fan yelling at a bunch of drunk devils fans, he will not be greeted with much friendship. you have to understand the risk taken when you enter that atmosphere and things like that will happen, i remember the last devils/rangers game i went to didnt have half the hostility, it was just a night of much intensity and the reason i started a new thread because this just wasnt a gloat thread, it was to illustrate the feel and experience of being at the game 300 posts and i still have no fucking clue This message was edited by MrQuotes on 3-23-01 @ 12:58 AM

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70	Mr Q --- I never said that there are not stupid Rangers fans -- My best friend is one, that's why I don't go to games with him. Can't people go to a game and cheer on their team. If I go to NJ arena, I cheer for goals and that is it. It is not my teams house so I show NJ team and fans respect. BUT I have seen beer dumped on people, food tossed at others for no reason other than they were wearing a diferent jersey than the home team. This is a stupid thing that helps to keep people away from buying tix to other games. Also the thing about NYR tix is they are so dam pricey that you wouldn't want to do anything stupid to get tossed and lose you hard earned cash (+they have a large Co. bases tix holders that suck, not real fans)I have been to many NHL games alover and NJ is not the worst, not even the top 5, but can't we stop this stupid fighting over a fuck'n team, do they pay you, do you owe them jail time? realy I think the fighting in the stands shows the people of NJ in a bad way -- it makes us look like the toothless drunk ass-f's that the rest of the world thinks we are. Here are my Top 10 places where watching your team may cost you more than $. #1 Philly --- nuff said #2&3 (so bad gets 2 places) Boston --- Fans take sports too much to heart #4 Montreal -- can't even sit and watch with out someone yelling at ya. #5 Toronto -- see Montreal #6 Fla. -- beer dumpers all over the place #7 Wash. -- look out if you are in the wrong color #8 NJD -- wear dif. team in hear, wear a helmet #9 NYI -- (when they are better) Fans will be tuff on the wrong teams. #10 NYR -- I'm not blind on what they say and do in MSG, but in the stands you are just gonna get booed, in the halls and outside is another story. (please remember that these are only a list of 10 NHL arenas I have seen, other NHL arena's no problems, not worth listing or haven't been there yet.) Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 01	Im sorry to say this, but NYR fans are the worst. When Messier first left because the Rangers didnt give him enough money all the fans hated him. I remember going to a game and seeing a whole group of fans with Messier jerseys with messiers name and number X'ed out with black tape. Now when he comes back they cheer him like a god. Like if he never left them. Sometimes I wish I could be just like everyone else, then I realize how much they all suck.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	Yeah all the fans hated him, thats why he got a Standing Ovation when he came back and the place went nuts when he scored a goal in his First game back at the Garden. Just because a select few act like that, dont mean EVERYBODY.
