| DENVER (AP) -- Leon Lett, the free agent defensive tackle who was a dominant run-stopper for the Dallas Cowboys, signed Thursday with the Denver Broncos.
Terms were not disclosed, but the deal was reportedly worth $9 million over four years. Lett's agent, Jim Steiner, did not immediately return a phone call.
The 32-year-old moves into the opening created by Keith Traylor's release last week.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Lett remains a dominant force. He made the Pro Bowl in 1994 and 1998.
However, Lett has been punished several times for violating the league's drug policy. Lett missed 28 games in the 1995, '96, '97 and '99 seasons because of drug-related punishment.
He missed four games in 1995 after testing positive for marijuana, then the last three games of 1996 and the first 13 of 1997 after testing positive for cocaine. He also missed the first eight games of the 1999 season.
With five violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy, Lett is among the biggest reasons why Dallas' image has been tarnished in recent years.

| Is Leon's drug dealer going to make the move to Denver too?

| The sad thing is that he could have been one of the best linemen of the 90's if he didn't have so many drug problems.
