(AP) - Darryl Strawberry remained missing Saturday and was considered a fugitive after he left the drug treatment center where he had been serving two years' house arrest. The 39-year-old former slugger disappeared after a counseling session Thursday night, said Joe Papy, head of the Florida Department of Corrections regional office. He said authorities haven't been able to locate Strawberry and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office sought the warrant Friday. Strawberry has been out of jail since November. He was fitted with an electronic monitor to alert officials if he left the treatment center. Papy said Strawberry, who is battling cancer along with his drug addiction, had been doing well. ``All of his drug screens were clear,'' Papy said. ``Things were going well.'' The former All-Star and suspended New York Yankees outfielder has had continued legal problems while serving his sentence on a drug possession and prostitute solicitation charge. Darryl has proven time and time again he's not gonna straighten out his life. Yet, baseball continues to bring back his drugged up ass time and time again. (drug users and criminals I mean) Let him feel what its like to not be able to run away from a bad situation. I felt bad for him when he first stated (many years ago) he had drug problem and when he discovered his cancer. FUCK HIM NOW! Enough is enough. Go directly to jail! Do not pass go! I can't stand these greedy, overpaid athletes that bitch and moan how badly they are being treated or how they don't make enough money to support their lifestyle. Support their lifestyle?!?! As for Strawberry he has gotten plenty of chances to turn his life around and give his kids a normal childhood but he screwed up so it's time to stop giving him chances and face the music! This waste of human life Darryl Strawberry who should have died a hanful of times already, remains at large. If only we can bring back Cole and trade in Darryl  | ||||
