He did not raise the banner but he was on the field when Kiner did. Shouldn't they have had some members of the '86 team raise it that aren't in rehab or jail. And Ralph Kiner may never have played for the Mets, but he has been with the team since Day 1 back in 1962. So he as much a Met, than anybody. And nobody here is arguing Met tradition vs. Yankee tradition. Your making this arguement by yourself. No team in all of sports, with the possible exceptions of the Boston Celtics and Montreal Canadiens, can even compare to the history that the Yankees have. | ||||
