| Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | Should the Jets get a stadium, it would probably be a domed stadium on the east side of Manhattan. Giuliani wants the Yankees to play there, but it's doubtful. The new Nassau Coliseum will either be a brand new arena in the same location as the current one, or they will just completely renovate the current Nassau Coliseum (That's a lot of renovating.) Charles Wang wants a huge entertainment complex that would be the center of Long Island. It would have an arena, convention center, shopping center, and adequate transportation. It looks like Newark will have the new home of the Nets/Devils. The most likely of these to happen is the Newark arena. Yankee Stadium will be here forever and the Yankees will play there forever. The origianl plane was to have the new stadium built and ready for teh 2003 season.. The Islanders desperatly need a new stadium. The Nassau Coliseum is in worst shape than the Coliseum is Rome. :) Maybe Wang will build one for the Dragons and include facilities for the Islanders :) | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | The Islanders will have their arena around 2005. Wang wants to buy an NBA team for 2 reasons: 1) He's a huge basketball fan. He only bought the Islanders to establish himself as the owner of a pro franchise (I know some of the DEEKS out there are saying the Islanders are 3/4 of a pro team at best, very funny.) 2) It will help Long Island get a new arena. Think about it, you're a successful businessman sitting on millions of dollars. You're debating whether or not to fund the construction of a new Coliseum. Suddenly, there's an NBA team coming. I'm definitely putting down some cash for a new arena. This is the position where many Long Island investors are now. 3) Wang stands to make some serious cash if this pans out. Long Island is a sleeping giant. 20 years ago, the Islanders where selling out game after game. Those people are still here, they're just waiting for a winner and a new arena.
