| Was anyone watching MSG late on Monday night? They had on Beyond the Glory, The Bill Buckner Story. Growing up in Mass I remember '86 all too well. The show made a great point. He may have let a ball go through, but he didn't give up the hits to tie the game and he played great in game 7. It was pretty cool.

| I'm puttin' my self out there, but, I grew up in Chicago and he was one of my favorite Cubs. He gave everything he had and left it all on the field. He was a GREAT MLB player, off. and defensively. But, alas, his ties to the Cub org. caught up with him. At least I can report that the Cubs are 10-5 right now and the future looks bright...

| It's funny because he's a borderline Hall of Famer. The same thing happened to Jackie Smith, it took him an extra 15 years to get into the HOF because instead of all his great playing days people remember him in the Superbowl as a Cowboy dropping a touchdown pass against the Steelers.

| It's unfortunate, that he'll always be remembered for that one play through his legs. I'm sure it still haunts him.
Nice first thread Boston Boy.

| I haven't figured out how to quote yet...yeah, I've tried...anyway, it's funny how you mentioned Mr. Buckner's legs, Sgt. Krusty. So, in the spirit of O&A, was he a war vet? Or, did he spend an inordinate amount of time on a horse?
This comes from a potential starter of the internet Bill Buckner fan club...
All kidding aside, this guy was GREAT!

| Danny,
Yeah, his legs look like a muleskinner at one of those Grand Canyon tourist rides. So I guess he did spend too much time on a horse.quote:

| What's funny is what he is doing right now. He owns a ranch in Idaho and they kept showing him horseback riding.

| This is being replayed right now, and I think the most interesting thing about it is that Jay Mohr is narrating it...
