O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01	NEW YORK (AP) -- Lou Piniella of Seattle, Tony Muser of Kansas City, Dusty Baker of San Francisco and Bruce Bochy of San Diego were appointed coaches for the All-Star game on July 10. The moves for the game at Safeco Field in Seattle were announced Wednesday by American League manager Joe Torre of the New York Yankees and National League manager Bobby Valentine of the New York Mets. Piniella, whose team has the best record in baseball, will coach in his home park. This is his second straight appearance as an AL coach. He managed the NL in 1991 and played in the 1972 game with Kansas City. Baker was a coach on the 1994 and '97 All-Star teams and played as an All-Star in 1981 and '82 with the Dodgers. Bochy managed the NL team in 1999 and was a coach in 1997. Muser, in his fourth full season as Royals' manager, will be making his first All-Star appearance. Torre asked brother Frank Torre, a former major leaguer, to sit on the bench. Valentine asked longtime Dodgers manager Tom Lasorda to be his guest on the bench. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	Damn, im disappointed. There was word a few months ago that Bobby V was trying to get Tommy Lasorda to be a coach. That would have been cool. Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum. :)

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	no Froy, u r right...but Bobby V was looking to get a grant from the league office for Lasorda, guess it didnt work though. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	Im surprised Bobby V picked Dusty Baker. Dusty hates Bobby V. Then again just about everybody does. With Bobby managing the team you know that none of our players are gonna get snubbed. But then again nobody really deserves to be an All Star that is on the bubble. Mike Piazza will obviously be the starting Catcher. And Rick Reed is a definete on the Pitching Staff. Besides that, nobody is All Star worthy. Robin Ventura- Maybe. But thats most likely a stretch. Alfonzo certainly doesnt deserve it. And the rest of the team arent even considerable.
