| Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | i never heard about giambi but thats a no brainer there. chucks time is limited in ny, so is tino and brosius. theres drew henson and nick johnson waiting in the wings. and lf is a power position and chucky ain't too good at that. i'd trade chuck and johnson for giambi and trade tino for a pitcher. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Face it, Knobby is just above average as an outfielder. If he didn't have his speed and his reputation as a good on-base guy, then he would have been sent down or traded a long time ago. Now that Shane Spencer is healthy, they don't need Chuck the Fuck. Shane has flashed the glove a bit in left and he obviously has great power. Not to mention pretty decent speed on the bases. And he is young. Chuck is gettin up there in age. So I'd say its a good idea to get some pitching for him. They need some help in the pen anyway. I also think that if they can get Soriano to take some pitches, he'd be a great lead-off hitter to replace Chuck "We can share the women, we can share the wine" | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | well, the Yanks just signed Gerald Williams to a 2 year deal. that gives them a 5 man rotation between the LF, RF, and DH positions. Torre wants to use a 4 man rotation in those positions for the rest of the year. that means that either Knoblauch or Shane Spencer has to go. it'll either be Knoblauch to Seattle for Brett Tomko and Al Martin, or it could be Spencer and Randy Keisler to Colorado for Pedro Astacio. they would like to keep Astacio away from Seattle and Boston, who have both shown interest, if possible. if Knoblauch leaves, Jeter and Williams will split time in the leadoff spot. the Yanks are remaining hopeful incase a power hitter like Jermaine Dye, Jason Giambi, or Moises Alou becomes available, but for right now they feel its best to focus on pitching. | ||||

Martin sucks and Tomko is down in the minors. What a fair deal. Plus they wouldn't have a lead off hitter at all.
