| Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01  | Jesse Armstead bitched in the papers yesterday about not having a contract with the Giants that will last him throughout his NFL career. If I was a pro football player, I would LOVE to play my entire career as a Giant as well, but if I wanted that to be known by the front office, I would tell them, and not the press! Come on! Can Jesse do anything that does not involve the press? The man gets constipated and it's in the Star Ledger. Someone should remind him that he's not L.T., Harry Carson or Carl Banks. When the boy has 15-20 sacks at the end of the year, come and talk to me! Jesse's good, but only L.T. held out, and he's in the Hall of Fame. Don't get me wrong - I want to see Armstead retire a Giant - but he could be a little more professional about it. If he lingers around long enough to become the salary-cap casualty he fears he might become, that will be his own fault. Dont talk trash about the Giants, everything will work out. Oh, and if you were Ernie Acorsi, wouldnt you want some flexibility with the salary cap? Why sign him long term if he has a contract already? And, hopefully he wont, but what if he gets hurt? Then the Giants will be the next Dallas Cowboys with their salary cap. | Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I personally don't think the Giants are dicking Armstead around. Like Cluster F said, he has a contract, it is not a concern. The thrust of the thread is about Armstead - again - going to the papers to air out his laundry. It is a petty and immature act by professional athletes and, as a Giants fan, makes me feel embarassed that one of my own would pull this kind of stunt. And, for those of you scoring at home, Barrow was the best defender on the Giants last season. That guy named Strahan does not suck, either. Glad to have them all, though.
