friend\'s on pro sports? - jewdown - 08-06-2004 I was wondering if anyone knows someone in profesional sports. I used to hang out with this guy who is in the Cardinals org. (AAA - Memphis)We used to go fishing and camping when we were in high school. He was drafted by the Cubs & traded to the Twins. He was up for a while and actually pitched against the Yanks. He got Bernie to ground into a DP. I saw him on ESPN pitching against the Indians. He struck out Jim Thome & Manny, back to back. It was pretty cool. He was dropped & pick up by the Pirates and traded to the Dodgers. He hurt his elbow & signed with the LI Ducks for a year. Anyway, this is his second year with the Cards & is kind of stinking it up this year, which sucks cause he was in the AAA all star game last year. I doubt if hes gonna have another shot, hes gonna be 29. But i dont think hes ever gonna do anything else in life. Baseball is all he knows and he aint that bright. friend\'s on pro sports? - Hasegawa - 08-06-2004 My third cousin played for the Phillies and Yankees. He now plays for the Red Sux. She's met a ton of players and gets amazing seats for Yankee games. friend\'s on pro sports? - Keyser Soze - 08-07-2004 Rocky Colavito is my father's cousin. friend\'s on pro sports? - Flock of Moosen - 08-07-2004 I wouldn't call him a friend, but I did go to high school with Dave Szott who was an OG on the Chiefs and the Jets. He graduated a year after me so we never had any interactions. friend\'s on pro sports? - RapeFantasizer - 08-07-2004 When I was a kid, I used to watch my older brother play basketball with all the boys in my neighborhood. One of them was Tom Gugliotta. He's on the Utah Jazz now, but started off on the Bullets, then the Golden State Warriors, Timberwolves, then Suns. (I think I got that right) Anyhow, the last time I saw him was a few years back, when he came home to visit, but his mother has since passed away so he doesn't come here anymore. Funny thing is that in high school he totally sucked at basketball. His father was our high school's b-ball coach (and apparantly someone with a lot of connections) and he knew the coach of the team at NC State, managed to get his son on the team there, but he never played. Between his freshman and sophmore years, he grew from 6'4" to 6'10" and came back to school as a great player. |
