Anthony\'s thoughts on the FCC and the Broadcast Decency Hearings - Canadian Tool - 02-18-2004 Do you really believe Republican committee member, Heather Wilson when she says she's so strict, she had to give her 4th grade son "special permission" to watch the superbowl? lying bitch. I'd bet a good buck she didn't even no what the hell happened when she was watching live. But ohhh...when she saw that shit on the news, thats when she went crazy. "How dare they! " It's times like this I wish those guys were still on the air. They'd have torn this apart for the better part of 4 hours. Nevermind the fact that he's DEAD ON. People don't want to take resonsibility for ANYTHING now. Not what they see on TV, and not what they hear on radio. It's not like we all don't have a choice in the matter. If you don't like it, don't tune in. It's really that simple. I along with many others find the, Harpo Winfrey show offensive. Maybe I should lodge a complaint, and they'll take her off the air. Or at the very least, hold a godamn congressional hearing over it. The first S4S, management removed St. Pats from the list. Anthony\'s thoughts on the FCC and the Broadcast Decency Hearings - 60FeetUnderWater - 02-19-2004 I don't think I implied that the boys should have gotten away scot-free. There should have been a 2-week or so suspension without pay, at worst. Of course they crossed the line that day but was that line the worst one they've ever EVER crossed? I submit that it is not. Thus, this almost-2-year-long hiatus was unnecessary. Infinity first buckles under FCC pressure and cancels the show but then later on, "respectfully declines" to pay the fine because they decide to listen to the actual broadcast (which is what I believe FCC fines are based on, not the opinion of the Catholic League) and realize that holy shit, there was no "play by play account of a sexual act", etc. Infinity should have realized from the outset that the broadcast was not indecent enough to warrant revocation, fully aware that the FCC didn't have a leg to stand on when it came to revoking their license. Basically, Infinity should have told the FCC to fuck off in the first place. Or am I missing something? |
