I think it's just people in general are way too status conscious and materialistic. It's like feeling the need to have a great car, but having to live on oranges and saltines in order to pay for it. People are such morons.

Growing up my dad was making a good income,
we lived in Texas, so the standard of living made that a GREAT income,
not landbaron money.... but we were very comfortable....
he was able to buy a lot of stuff.
and had things.....
but my parents had problems and their life was a hell.....
I learned that money and things are not happiness. I always thought I could be happy living in a trailer park, if I had the right woman with me.
I do like nice things,
I do like comforts,
but there is a relative importance to things.

don't get me wrong Rooner (and any one else who thinks I'm "anti-marriage")
I do believe in getting married but...by a justice of the peace, maybe.
or via a customized ritual involving various religions and such (who knows?)
All I know is this:
having the grand ball, top shelf cocktail hours, fancy head pieces and limos does not a great marriage make.
