Cant there be a GTA for Gamecube?

Nope. PS propietory software.

actually, technically, it's Rockstar software that Sony paid HUGE $$$$ to have as an exclusive. That game alone sold literally millions of PS2 units.

The PS2 might have GTA but ultimately, the system itself is a piece of gaming crap. It has the slowest processor of the big 3 consoles, awful loading times, limited on-board memory, and solely thrives on 3rd party software support.

Meanwhile - Nintendo remains as the industrys' last true GAMING COMPANY.

Strip away the DVD playability of the PS2 and you have yourself a pretty inferior machine.

Anyhoo, getting back to the real topic at hand here - I've read from various sources that at some point GTA will be made available for not only the Cube but for Xbox as well.

Eh, I rather play Metroid, Zelda, and Eternal Darkness anyways.

By the way - I started playing GTA last week....it's still loading. Rolleyes

*adjusts pocket protector*

I'm not a Sony hater, I'm just a Nintendo Fanboy. Big difference. Tongue

And hey! it's called "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker", damn it! Wink

and actually - it's not that I "hate" the PS brand...I just hate the fact that people hate on a company that pretty much taught Sony how to build a gaming system.

Check the history...you'll see what I'm talkin' about. Hints - Super Nintendo...CD Attachment being built by Sony...Nintendo nixes the project the day before the official E3 unveiling of it all...Sony takes game system building knowledge, vows vengence. The rest is as they say, "history".

Also, I never cared for GTA, really. I get bored after a while. Most of the games I enjoy on the PS2 (when at my friends house to play it..) are the EA sports games...and those are available on the gamecube as well so I never truely had the motivation to shell out $300 to buy one...and now, even less motivation when, like I said, the games I'd get for it I could just get for my Cube.

But 1st party games like Metroid (which kicks ASS!) and Zelda (which ALSO kicks ASS!) will never be found on a non-nintendo system...well, for now anyways.

Nintendo is just too cartoony for me, I like a lil more realism to my games, so when I imagine that lil ol lady walking down the street in GTA as my boss, it has the real feel to it.

exactly..

If I want "realism" - I go outside. Tongue

if I want to play great games - I turn on my Gamecube. Confusedpin:

Besides, how can you call Metroid "cartoony"?

Zelda or "Cel-da" as they call it...fine, it does look cartoony - but, that was the intention. Game designer god Shigeru Miyamoto wanted the game to feel as if you were playing an "interactive cartoon".

GTA is indeed a great game. It really, really is. It's just that it takes more than blood and violence to get me to enjoy a game for long periods of time.

Rockstar thought they had the formula down by releasing 'State of Emergency" - a game with all the violence and none of the depth and look how well that game sold. Rolleyes

Back in the day, Mortal Kombat 1 was cool at first for the violence too...but Street Fighter was by far the superior playing fighting game. and ironically, MK used motion captured characters for that "realistic look" while Street Fighter used 2D animated sprites.

A more violent, "realistic" game doesn't mean it'll be better than a "cartoony" one...well, IMO at least.

However - online gaming like SOCOM is cool (if you didn't have to pay extra for it)

Playing CDs and movies is cool too...for the most part but, when I buy a gaming system, that is what I want to use it for - GAMING.

Microsoft took Sonys' idea and has one-upped it every step of the way. All XBOX needs now is that one "killer ap" that will move millions..and actually, they did score one game like that, "Halo". An excellent game...now, if only Microsoft can get legitimate 3rd party support and sales in/from Japan.

$150 for new video card vs $200 for PC....

Anyways, KARATE CHAMP is the best fighter game of all time!!!! Screw all of those fucking chi throws and combos. BEGI! :ka: :ka: :ka: HAF POIN! :clap clap clap: RULES!!!

Socom is free to play online.

Street Fighter better than MK? How much crack did you smoke this morning? Granted, Street Fighter was kick ass as the the first fighting game worth a damn, but MK took that to a whole new level with real fighting styles and all. And ALL of nintendos games are cartoony. Hey, dont get me wrong, I loved Nintendo, but like it did to Atari, Sony is doing to it, and maybe Microsoft will do that to Sony, who knows. But right now, no one can touch PS2.

i lost interest in MK after mk3.. after that, it got too confusing..

but SF got better with SF vs. X-men and Capcom joining in..

SF > MK.
