This is what I said, too, but the hygenist said even a medium is too hard. And that you have to use little strokes, too, whereas I used to basically scrub the suckers. It wears down the enamel, and causes your gums to recede.
Teaching myself a new way to brush after 30 years was way too hard, so I went out and bought a SpinBrush.
