i don't know if anyone has mentioned it previously but for one of the sites i admin on we have users creating a chatroom using aim while we construct our new chat system that's being beta tested right now. we just go to People>Send Chat Invitation and then name the chat room (ex: Your Moms Box Chat) and invite yourself and anyone else you want to join that might be interested. just designate whateve as the standard name. it's very popular with our users.
