here's my favorite poem
Only Cloth
Fifty stars
Thirteen stripes
"It's only cloth," they say
But it's my cloth
It represents myself
My country
And I'm close to tears
To see my glory drag the ground
"But it's just cloth
Stop whining," they say
What's wrong?
These kids today
Or everyone for that matter
Don't flatter yourselves with self worth
While you shatter her to the ground
Bound and shackled they fought
Veterans shed blood
To raise her on high
Claiming freedom
Claiming glory
To all our stories
Sure its just a cloth
Stars and stripes
Forever reigning on our glory
And where were these kids
When I was at camp
Raising Old Glory atop Scout's honor
Why didn't they see the glory I see?

I wrote that after bitching out my brother's ex-girlfriend when she scoffed me for repeatedly telling a McDonald's manager to do something about their flag outfront that was pretty much laying on the ground in the rain.
