Musicals - JimmyBlueEyes - 11-10-2003 For my girlfriends birthday, I got her tickets to a Broadway show. She's been to a ton of them, and this was I think the second one I had ever been to. I took her to see Movin Out. For those of you who don't know, it's the interpretation, through dance, of Billy Joels music. I found it to be very interesting, but found myself somewhat distracted, not only because I have a cold and am doped up on cold pills, but I paid more attention to the band than I did most of the dancers. I rarely choke up but found myself getting a little emotional during Goodnight Saigon, a song about the Vietnam experience, as seen thru the eyes of a Marine. If you get the chance to see it, I would recommend it. I wanna go see Wicked next. The one about the witches of Oz before Dorothy came to town. Musicals - Jimbo - 11-10-2003 i've thought about going to see that just because i love billy joel. otherwise, i hate musicals. Musicals - sweet angel - 11-10-2003 It takes a secure man to admit that he enjoys musicals. Musicals - dru - 11-10-2003 i've seen a lot over the years. never saw movin' out. it didin't interest me. i saw taboo (the one with boy george, about his life) last week & i loved it. i love him. he was playing leigh bowery (that's why he has all that fucked up make-up on all the time) really anyone could be in that roll, the show is so good that it didnt' need him in the part. boy george wrote the score & some of the ballads are amazing. i'd reccommend it. wicked is supposed to be really good. i still think my favorite was dance of the vampires. i saw it on closing night. if that show ever comes back i reccommend it to everyone. Musicals - Sloats - 11-10-2003 I screamed at my wife after she dragged me to see the Scarlet Pumperknickle that we could have bought an entire filet mignon for the money we spent and I didn't enjoy one fucking moment of the experience (except, maybe when I groped a female Asian tourist's ass, but I didn't tell her that). It was a waste of money and I am too straight/woodsy to enjoy it. Yes, I am Metrosexualphobic. Musicals - TheDude - 11-10-2003 Bring back the rollerblading musical everyone loved!!!!! Musicals - TheDude - 11-10-2003 Quote:Originally posted by 60FeetUnderWater I grew up in your personal hell.... Sunday morning me and my brothers would be woken up by loud wails of Phantom or Joesph's stupid fricken colored coat (whatever the hell it was called) full volume played on repeat by our mother... *shivers from the dark memories* Musicals - 60FeetUnderWater - 11-10-2003 If my mom did that to me I think I'd resort to making death threats eventually. Either that or I'd secretly destroy every last recording of hers. after a couple of sundays in a row, I would lose it. enough is ENOUGH.
