This really pissed me off... - JimmyBlueEyes - 02-12-2004 I heard about this on the radio a little earlier tonight on my way home from work. Soccer team heckled in Mexico I wrote my feelings on a military based board. But I think this can speak to everyone here, if you're serving in the Reserves, Active Duty, former military like me or just someone who read this story and it boiled your blood like it did mine. Here's my rant about this little story and what was going thru my head when I heard it and read it. I thought about this and wondered to myself, "What makes these people hate us so??" Do they look upon us as arrogant Americans?? If they hate us so much, why are so many of their countrymen flocking to emigrate here?? Do you ever hear of natural born Americans leaving by the hundreds, or thousands to live in other countries?? I figured they just lacked class by chanting the name of Bin Laden. Do these people know that if OBL had his way, they'd all be forcefully converted or murdered?? IMHO I don't find Soccer that exciting, nor do I find it being a game that needs much more talent than strong legs and speed. (Flame Away Soccer Fans) Why do all these countries hate us?? Is it because our President has said, in not so many words, you're either on my train or under it?? Or is it simply because of one thing. Jealousy. Now I have been to other countries and to a few places here in America, and I have to say, that I would much rather be living in poverty here than living well somewhere like Haiti or Jamaica. We are a rich country, we regularly send humanitarian and financial aid to a lot of countries, we have so much to offer to people, and they have the freedom to accept or decline those treasures. People in countries all over the world don't have these opportunities like we do. We do so much for others and yet they still hate us?? Why?? Because they can't do it themselves. And it pi$$es them off to no end that they can't. In most every war we have been involved in, we have handed the @$$es of the bad guys to them on platters. That goes for ops in Afghanistan and Iraq. Yes there are these cowardly bombings and random acts against our troops, but when it came to the heavy fighting, our Army,Navy,Air Force, Marines, and COASTIES opened up several large cans of whoop @$$ and what happened?? The enemy fled or surrendered. BZ(Bravo Zulu Military Speak for Atta Boy!!!) to all who fought, got hurt or made the ultimate scarifice. I'm proud of each and every one of you. It's easy to blame the USA for all the ills of the world when there are people who, cannot for any good reason, find anything else to blame it on. What?? You're living in squalor in the Middle East?? Blame America. Instead of blaming the corrupt government, or the "Royal" family that opresses everything and squashes dissent. The Europeans hate us?? They hate GWB?? I don't particularly care for our CIC(Commander in Chief) either, but these jerks don't seem to grasp the fact that if it weren't for this country, they'd all be speaking German. Now drink your fuckin espressos and STFU!!! So in closing, for all the ills of our country, the homelessness, drug abuse/addiction, pregnant teenagers and bad family upbringings, Mullets, Jerry Springer, Baby's fathers, divorces, $7 packs of Cigarettes, and anything else you can possibly think of that sucks about here sometimes. This is still the best place I would want to be. So for all of you non Americans who chant the name of a sleazeball who will soon be going to his reward, and to those of you who hate us for all the reasons under the sun you can come up with, remember this. After all is said and done, we're still standing. You hate us?? Good, keep on hating us. Cause no matter what you bring to the table, this country is still the best place for anyone, for all the bad and all the good. And another thing, if you don't like it y'all can kiss my produced in the USA, Made in NY, red white n blue rear end!!! Thank you for your time and have a lovely day!!! This really pissed me off... - The Brain - 02-12-2004 Quote:Originally posted by JimmyBlueEyesA little bit of all that you listed. I think we were far more oblivious to it during the Cold War (or perhaps not as many countries hated us back then), because there was a polar opposite to us in the form of the USSR. Countries took our side becuase we had a mutual enemy... but once that enemy crumbled, it left us the only one around to dislike. As far as or arrogance... shit, we are that, and we are often proud to admit it. But it's also ignorance on our part, where we continuously toss our money at these other nations and try to pooh-pooh their troubles away, when that simply will not work. If they love us, great, we can do business. If they don't, no soup for you. This really pissed me off... - header - 02-12-2004 Good point. I honestly don't give a shit if people from other countries hate us. Just as long as they don't attack us or have intentions to attack us or our interests then let them hate us. The great thing about people that shout about how horrible the US is is that we can see them screaming we know who they are and it makes it a little bit easier to know who to keep an eye on. It is those quiet countries that kiss our ass one minute and turn their backs on us the next minute that worry me most. |
