Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - sweet angel - 05-20-2003 I'm not sure if this topic belongs here or in another forum. Anyway...does anyone have this service? Is it any good? Pros? Cons? Thanks. Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - FollowThisLogic - 05-20-2003 I have OnDemand from Cablevision, not Comcast, but I'll bet it's about the same.... it rocks! Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - sweet angel - 05-20-2003 Any idea how it compares to say, Tivo? Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - Ronin - 05-20-2003 is IO that same as On Demand? Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - FollowThisLogic - 05-20-2003 IO is Cablevision's digital cable service. OnDemand is a feature on it that allows you to call up shows - that they have selected - any time you want. So that kinda answers the TiVo question too.... it doesn't replace the TiVo. They choose what is available to you. I pay the 5 bucks a month for HBO OnDemand, and found it extremely useful during Sopranos. Miss the episode, catch it whenever you want on OnDemand. I've also done that with 24 a few times, they usually have about the last 5 episodes of 24 available. Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - Flock of Moosen - 05-21-2003 We have Cablevision's IO service. It was incredible in the beginning because it was new and different, but now it's boring again. We rarely use HBO On Demand because frankly the movies they give us aren't all that great. Every so often they will put something on we've been waiting to see, but most of the time it's like "Oh great, another week of shit movies." One thing that On Demand did come in quite handy for was the 1st season of The Shield. I didn't watch it during it's initial run, but was bored one night and decided to check it out. Damn, I'm glad I did. This, along with 24, are probably the best shows on TV today. Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - GreasyItalianPrincess - 05-21-2003 I/O sucks in my opinion...my parents have it. Time Warner has InDemand, and that rocks. Comcast? AT&T or TimeWarner own Comcast? If it's TimeWarner, jump for it. Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - Flock of Moosen - 05-22-2003 To those that have Comcast or Time Warner, do you have that ESPN High Definition channel yet? We're dying to get it here on Cablevision, but all they can tell us is they are still "in talks" and we may get it soon. Yeah, soon to Cablevision is when the world ends. Comcast Digital Cable - On Demand - reefdwella - 05-22-2003 A friend of mine has Comcast and she hates it. She originally had AT&T and then they were taken over by Comcast, she's had nothing but trouble with them since. |
