I can't fucking take it....quitting smoking is the worst thing I can think of. Worse than pulling my fingernails out one by one, worse than being anally raped by a whole NFL football team....worse than, well you get the idea.

It's been a little over 2 weeks since I've had a cigarette and it's killing me, but I haven't made it this far before so I'm trying to hold on. UGH FUCK YOU CIGARETTES, stop calling my name.

There is nothing like a cigarette:

- After a good hardy meal.
- At a bar with a drink while you enjoy a great band or the company of good friends
- After hot and sweaty sex
- In the morning with your morning coffee
- When you're stressed and you just want get that little edge off before you decide to go postal
- When you're in a heated conversation on the phone that you're really really into

stick to it, it WILL get easier. I was a pack & 1/2 a day smoker...haven't smoked a cigarette since 1/5/99.

just find as many distractions as possible when the urges hit you. I smoked many joints actually. :lol: but also, seriously, I wrote a list as to why I should quit and that helped (as well as having chewing gum handy at all times)

I also avoided drinking at smoked filled locales for a while too. I actually avoided drinking in general for a while until I knew I was able to handle drinking a beer or two and NOT reach for a cancer stick.

just hang in there, it WILL get easier.

Which is why I'm currently loving the great state of NJ since you can still do that in a bar as opposed to anywhere in NY and also in Boston (which I found out after I was there). Oh, I'll stop there or it'll turn into an FU about smoking laws.
