I'm sitting here after about 4 hours sleep, and possibly still drunk from last night...thinkin of what to do on a quiet Saturday...then it hits me...i haven't cooked in a bit, and I defrost a bunch of stuff and throw it in the crockpot. Might as well make a stew/chili that takes care of dinner the next two..TWO...nights.
I start with half a bottle of Tomato sauce...Barilla Garlic & Onion sauce fits the bill. Then I add Terriyaki sauce into that...which is the base I'll use to drop a london broil with. I add red wine to the base, too. After the londow boil is in the crockpot, I add veggies (in this case some sort of mixed veggie blend of mushrooms, onions, broccoli, etc. Then on top of this, I add cut-up sausage. Then I turn the fucker on, and just leave it on LOW-setting all day. If I had Ground Veal, I'd have added that to my base, too...but i'm out. This stew is bascially just contigent on whats in the fridge and freezer...kind of a spare-parts deal. The tomato-terriyaki base really will give any meat a certain flavor, so whether it's ground turkey, veal, beef, chicken...doesn't really matter.
So...that's my little Gooch stew which will feed my apartment for the next few days. Later, I'll add BBQ sauce, or red wine, or even Jack Daniels to the concotion to flavor, as well as some Monterry Jack cheese. We shall see.
What recipes or conctions are you known for??
