Ok, ok...here some spoilers.
Some paleoclimatologist dudes are getting ice samples for research into the causes of the last ice age. During this particular drilling expedition, a chunk of ice the size of Rhode Island breaks off. The scientist responsible tells the VP of our country about the impending doom. he says that it can result in mass climatic changes which would upset the worlds weather pattern, which would cause irregular and highly severe storms and such. The VP says fuck off, loony (naturally, I'm paraphrasing). We then discover that a bouy in the North Atlantic reads a temperature drop of 13 degrees. It is ruled out to be an anomoly as such a huge drop is uncommon. Of course, more bouys begin to show a massive drop of temperature so now we know for sure, that a huge wave is coming. BAM! New York City gets mad crazy fucked up! Oh, in other weather disaster events, Los Angeles gets ravaged by an orgy of tornados. Fit in a father-rescues-son&friends story, a crying mother back at home, a gal that the son falls in love with and some really fucked up weather and you prety much have the movie in a nut shell. Sprinkle in a ton of awful cliched dialogue too. Roland Emmerich is a great visual director but can't write a screenplay worth shit.

The weakest part of this f'n movie was the cheesy acting and dialogue.
The majority of the scenes looked like they were standing in front of a backdrop. Whether they were or not, I don't know, but it kind of looked like it. and how far is philadelphia from NYC? that seems very implausible that they would walk that far since they didn't start walking in philly in the first place and under such conditions, hell even walk that far at all. and the fact half the scenes no one is wearing f'n gloves. i mean COMEONWTF

Quote:We then discover that a bouy in the North Atlantic reads a temperature drop of 13 degrees.I didn't know they took the temp of the ocean. I thought they were just there as markers for boats. See, learn something new every day!
