He went to a different doctor. Scott Hall swears by this guy, apparently. (Make your "Kurt's gonna be a drunk?" jokes now.)

The situation is basically that this new doctor uses a completely different method, that is just as good or better, and doesn't require a lot of recovery time, because there's no fusing of vertebrae involved, like what happened to SCSA.

Plus, the process involves less trauma to the neck/spine region, which lessens scar tissue and the need for surgeries in the future. You can be guaranteed Edge and Lita's careers were shortened by getting this done, although Lita's career is probably a lot less wrenching than Edge's is.

Hearing about this surgery reminds me of a story I heard about Kirby Puckett. After Puckett got blasted in the face with the baseball and had to retire, he saw someone wearing a facemask on their batting helmet. He was a color man for ESPN at the time, and he said off-handed, "I wish I knew about that when I was playing. I'd probably still be playing today."

I'm sure Austin feels the same way...

FBI & John Cena defeated Chris Benoit, Rhyno, and Spanky.

La Resistance beat Test & Scott Steiner.

Christian won the IC battle royal... actually, Booker T originally looked to be the winner, but the referee conveniently didn't see Booker eliminate Christian.

Eddie Guerrero & Tajiri beat Team Angle.

Torrie won the bikini challenge, then kissed Sable. I heard Torrie's "bikini" made the entire skit worth while.

Mr America pinned Roddy Piper after Sean O'Haire accidentally hit Piper with a lead pipe. Tenacious Z Kept Vince from interfering in the match.

Jazz (quite predictably) retained her title.

Nash won by DQ, thanks to the almighty sledgehammer. Surprisingly, Trips won't even drop the belt to a Clique member... douche.

Brock Lesnar defeated Big Slow... Lesnar used a forklift to haul away the STacker 2 spokesman.

I'd just like to point out my amazement that they've managed to completely bury Goldberg in one month, such that he wasn't even on the PPV, without having H crush him. A new record, I think. They buried Goldberg even deeper than Cena, who went from title match to curtain-jerker. But at least he was on it.

And the thing that I'm sure made people go wild over Torrie's bikini was that she had a larger one over a smaller one.... did the whole "I'm not done yet" deal, took off the outer bikini, yay, little one.

Really surprising thing there, though, was that the crowd was even dead during the T&A portion of the show. Usually they light up.... tonight they just didn't fucking care.... like the rest of us.

Higlight of the night: Nash does a lazy-bounce off the ropes, into a lazy elbow drop on H. Gets up, another lazy-bounce, another lazy elbow. Gets up, and decides to do something complettely different.... a lazy-bounce off a DIFFERENT ROPE and another lazy elbow.

I'm starting to feel like this is our punishment for complaining about WCW sucking. WCW never got this bad.
